The Maxell PD-50DL is a professional hard disk recording medium for the Sony XDCAM series of camcorders. It provides 50 gigabytes of storage with fast transfer speeds, superior durability and the ability to record over again at least 1,000 times without any problems.
- 50GBCapacity: Blue-violet laser powered recording, with an extremely short wavelength, maximizes data storage to a whopping 50 gigabytes.
- Laser-Cutting-Control Technology: An ultra-low-pitch data track is realized with high-precision laser-cutting-control technology; a track pitch of a mere 0.32im (less than half that of DVD-R's 0.74im) is achieved while the integrity of the grooves are maintained.
- High-Speed Data Transfer: High-sensitivity phase change materials and optimized layer structuring allows high-speed transfer rates of ~86Mbps for recording and ~126Mbps for playback.
- Protective Layer: This disc achieves a durable recording surface with greatly enhanced resistance to dust and scratching, developed for professional-use discs. It employs a high precision cartridge to protect against dust and handling errors caused by excessive use.
- Long-Term Storage Capability: Long-term storage capability of over 50 years and disc can be re-recorded up to 1,000 times without any significant changes.
