  • Non-Destructive RAW Editing: The software uses a non-destructive approach to image editing. Original files are untouched by edits. Rather, Lightroom stores adjustments made to images in a central database, ensuring that the integrity of your original files remains intact

A wonderful upgrade

Lightroom 2 is a giant step forward from Lightroom 1, and is more than worth the price of admission. The new features do take some computing power (I'm going to have to upgrade my set-up to take full advantage), but that's understandable considering the amount of information it is working with and how powerful it is. If you don't already have Lightroom, let me just say that it makes being a digital photographer much more enjoyable. I cannot even imagine working without it. If someone were to ...

If someone were to ask me what the most important things are for a starting photographer, I would say #1 a DSLR, and #2 Lightroom. It's that good.

Needs Work, Very Slow compared to Ver 1

I've been using version 1 for a year and Love it. I upgraded to Version 2.1 and it's very slow and crashes. The new feature for selective adjustments is so slow it's unusable. Wait for a new release and hopefully they will fix it.

Great Software

LR2 is a nice piece of software but I've already upgraded to LR3 and recently purchased LR4. I would definitely recommend LR4 to anyone that enjoys photography.

PS5 Goes Lite

I use Light Room to organize and do touch-up on photos. It acts much like layers in Photo Shop in that it doesn't alter the original file. The heavy lifting still needs to be done in Photo Shop but Light Room takes care of 80% of my photo processing needs - like adjustments to exposure, white balance, sharpness, color, cropping and much, much more!

All you could ask for

I love the flexibility of this program - you can do virtually anything in here if you shoot in RAW, which I generally do. But that leads to one frustration - the learning curve will be a little steep for some.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2

By

This is a very useful program. It took some time to develop proficiency in its use, but once I understood where everything was and what it does, it made a tremendous difference in my photographs (editing stages). I've found that pictures that were a bit too dark or the colors were just not right, this program was able to correct. This program has been very useful and helpful to me. There are more expensive and indepth programs out there, but for the price and funtionality of this program I gave it 5 stars.

Excellent

Faster than Elements. Better at saving files across a network. Doesn't require a lot of CPU power.

I haven't found anything I do that I can't do in Raw Bridge or Photoshop itself.

Lightroom 2 is incredible

By

from Raeford, NC  -  Quality Oriented

I am a professsional photographer that specializes in commercial and stock photography. Lightroom 2 has cut my workflow time almost in half. On occasion it will slow down, but that may be because I try to go too fast. It intergrates seamlessly with Photoshop. I'm sold on Lightroom 2.
