Apple's tech support is worth every penny and is a must for as long as you can have it. Their reps will spend whatever time is necessary to resolve your issues. The more complicated these computers become, the more you need periodic help.

Apple Care extended warranty for iMac is a great product from Apple which extends the original warranty on your iMac to 3 years. This is much better than the warranties offered by 3rd parties for just a few dollars more. Highly recommended.

I bought AppleCare for an iMac I had purchased late last year. AppleCare, just like any kind of insurance, is nice to have. But of course, you hope you'll never have to use it. And so far, I haven't had to use AppleCare for that iMac. So, it's tough to leave a true experiential review. Still, I've heard good things about AppleCare, and generally speaking, Apple is good about warranty work. So, I find this to be an overall good buy.

Purchased a new 2013 iMac December 14 2016. could not load, called apple, told must registeer in one currant year of purchase, program is 2013. Apple should tell stores do not advertise if program is after one year old.

Sort of said it above. I usually shy from extended warranties, but I am not super tech savvy and find being able to contact an expert easily (I don't have IT access, work from home) is great. I forget details of extended warranty. My gen impression is that electronic devices, if they work when you first use them, are good for virtually ever, but the warranty does give you satisfaction, given the expense of Mac equipment. Have never had to use warranty but sure Apple is easy to work with. Advice: save your original box for transport or shipping if you have a larger device.

I've had an unusual amount of problems with one of my iMac 5ks - with AppleCare, I have been treated to what has to be the best support in the industry. Don't cheap out - you never know when you're going to have a problem with anything, and though I've been using Macs for over 30 years, I've found their support team be top notch.

We spent time on the phone going over an issue with my new iMac computer. At the end of the call, he asked if it would be OK to call me in the morning and talk about the results of the changes we made. And he called the next morning. The issue was resolved.

I have owned a lot of Macs since the Mac Classic and always purchased them with AppleCare. I have only had to use it once and that was several Macs ago (a PowerMac G4) when it needed a new "power on button." While these Mac computers are well built, they are a complex piece of machinery. It's worth the small investment on a three year warranty just for the piece of mind.

I don't usually buy extended protection plans of any kind. But this is insurance for what I hope never happens. My previous Mac was a Mini which I could work on myself more easily. But with the way the iMac is sealed up, I really don't fancy the idea of having to crack the case for a repair. Best left up to the folks at Apple.

I used this product soon after I purchase of my iMac. It was an open box item and some of the software that comes with the computer had been wiped off. The tech reps were very professional and it actually required a supervisor to dig in come up with and immediate solution. It feels good to know that I will have this kind of protection available for 3 yrs.
