The Apple iMac 21.5" 1080p LED All-in-One Desktop Computer is an All-in-One desktop computer with an ultra-slim unibody design. Measuring at just 5mm at its edges, the iMac has 40% less volume than the 2011 iMac. The body of the iMac isn't the only thing that got thinner. The LCD display is now 5mm thinner and Apple also removed a 2mm gap between the LCD panel and the glass to save even more space.
The 21.5" widescreen display features LED backlighting for vibrant, accurate color. With in-plane switching (IPS) technology, the iMac has a wide 178deg. viewing angle. The screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio and Full HD 1920 x 1080 native resolution, supported by integrated Intel Iris Pro graphics.
Powered by a quad-core 4th-generation Haswell 2.7GHz Intel Core i5 processor, the iMac takes advantage of each core to optimize performance. The 4th-gen Haswell Intel processor also allows for low voltage usage for better energy efficiency. The system also has 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3 RAM, a 1TB 5400rpm hard drive, 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac/a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, a FaceTime HD camera, dual microphones and built-in stereo speakers.
For ports, the iMac has dual Thunderbolt ports (which also double as Mini Display Ports) and four USB 3.0 ports. You'll be able to connect with various compatible components. If you would rather go wireless with your peripherals, you can use Bluetooth 4.0 technology where compatible.
Mac OS X Mavericks comes preinstalled on the iMac. Mountain Lion introduces a host of new features, such as Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, Notification Center and more. Mountain Lion seamlessly integrates with your other Apple devices, such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch using iCloud. Just sign into iCloud with your Apple ID and you'll instantly have access to all your settings, files, photos, music and more.
Also included with Mountain Lion is iLife. iLife has a complete suite of digital creativity applications. Easy enough for anyone to use, iLife will help you edit your home movies, organize digital photos and compose original music. The system is also powerful enough to run Apple's professional-level applications, perfect for those who are ready to move up to the next level of creative software.

I would not recommend this for more than browsing the internet. Runs slower than the mid-2008 macbook pro it replaced. Multiple user profiles take minutes... MINUTES... to change from user to user. Has difficulty even running Safari and iTunes at the same time.
The newest iMac from Adorama was an excellent purchase. The item shipped fast and was in the original packaging (the white box inside a surdy brown carton). The machine, apart from other conf, also boasts of newest standard in wi-fi (ac) which makes it run super smooth.
I bought it in sep 2012. The reason I selected this model inspite of the very hight price tag was that it has a slot for external SD card and HD screen. Also it is relatively thin and light. Supposed to be fun to use. I have it for about two years now. First time it was OK. Then it started to reboot randomly without any reason for about a time or two in a week. Also it was lagging randomly so that it can freeze for about a minute then unfreeze even on light tasks like editing text in idle mode (no heavy background applications running). Couple of days ago it had entered a boot loop mode and basically turned into a brick. All it does is loads and resets without ever showing Android screen. After some research on the internet I found that many of these devices suffer from the same defect. Would not recommend to buy for anybody.
I phoned Adorama and was promptly helped by sales people who were cheerful, knowledgeable, helpful. The iMac is great. The upgrade to Mavericks was free, and easy to do. Your write up of this computer is descriptive and helpful. My husband and I have had a Mac computer since 1984, and it's been fun seeing each new feature.
While expensive this tablet rocks. Also: have a 64GB SD card in it with no issue.
Disapponted after great experiences with iPhone & iPad. Switched from PC to get Lightroom for photo processing. If you are young & don't need glasses, this machine will suit your needs. If you need to increase font size, forget it. OS X was not designed for this, unlike iOS & Windows. To make things worse, Adorama will not take back computers! There is a third-party app called Tinker Tool(not approved by Apple), which helps increase font size, but it is not ideal.
This is my first tablet. It has the plugin's I wanted that were lacking with the I-Pad. The display is super sharp. Never used Android based system, so there was a learning curve. No big deal if your half way tech savvy. Worked great right out of the box, just did some upgrades to the operating system and I was good to go. Got the keyboard too. They work well together with great battery life. Bought a cover that works with the pad or the keyboard attached. So far it's more than I expected and integrates well with my other computers, even though there all windows based. Wi-Fi works really good on my home network. Like I said before the display has amazing clarity and really nice camera. Another high tech toy I'm having a lot of fun with.
