About American Power Conversion (APC)

The APC C10BLK 12 Outlet Power Filter will protect your high performance audio and video (A/V) system from damaging power surges, spikes and lightning. Isolated noise filter banks will eliminate EMI/RFI as a source of audio and video signal degradation. Data-line surge protection jacks will stop surges traveling over phone and Ethernet lines.

Digital Satellite System, Cable Modem and CATV Coaxial Cable lines are equally protected. Sequenced turn-on and off ensures that connected equipment is powered-up/down in the proper order and with the right amount of delay between the stages. This feature is pre-programmed with a six second delay. This delay feature eliminates transients that can affect connected components, e.g. digital projectors.

American Power Conversion (APC) Features

  • Status Indicator LED's: Provides a quick visual indication of your unit's status
  • Resettable circuit breaker: Easy recovery from overloads; no need to replace a fuse
  • Fail Safe Mode: Most other surge suppressors continue to let power through even after their circuits have been damaged, leaving your equipment exposed to future surges
  • Protection Working Indicator: SurgeArrest will warn you if its circuitry has been damaged by heavy strike or power line surge and it is unable to provide 100% protection
  • Catastrophic Event Protection: SurgeArrest components such as MOVs and Thermal fuse ensure instantaneous reaction to lightning strikes and wiring faults. If the surge components are damaged due to power spike or over voltage, excess power cannot reach your equipment
  • Transformer Block Spacing: Connect bulky transformer block plugs without covering up other outlets
  • Overload Indicator: Indicator illuminates when connected equipment draws more power than unit's capacity. To remedy the condition, unplug less vital equipment
  • Noise Filtering: Attenuates EMI/RFI line noise that can cause data errors and keyboard lockups, ensuring better performance of protected equipment
  • Right Angle Plug: Plug angle allows for equipment and furniture to be placed closer to the wall than with a standard power cord. Reduces cord stress too
  • Building Wiring Fault Indicator: This LED informs users of potentially dangerous wiring problems in the wall circuit
  • Lightning and Surge Protection: To prevent damage to your equipment from power surges and spikes
  • IEEE let-through ratings and regulatory agency compliance: Stringent third-party testing gives you confidence that APC's surge protectors will safeguard your equipment and data from potentially damaging surges and spikes
  • Isolated filter banks: Eliminates electromagnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI) as a source of audio-video signal degradation
  • Dataline Surge Protection: Provides protection of connected equipment from power surges on the data lines
  • Power conditioning: Protects connected loads from surges, spikes, lightning and other power disturbances
  • Safety-agency approved: Ensures the product has been tested and approved to work safely with the connected service provider equipment and within the specified environment
  • LED status indicators: Quickly understand unit and power status with visual indicators
  • Multiple mounting methods: Allows for standardization on one product for use in different environments
  • Top Panel Controls and Indicators: Wiring OK Status Indicator Protection and On Status Indicator
  • AC-Powered Outlets: The outlets are arranged according to the type of filtering protection provided for a given application. They are split up into the following groups: Digital filter outlets, video filter outlets, analog filter outlets and high current filter outlets
  • DC Trigger Mini-Jack: When connected to a component acting as a DC trigger, that component controls turn on/off of the "delayed" outlet banks. Maximum input voltage for the DC Trigger is 30VDC

I just got this home and installed it. I used it to replace two "so-so" surge protectors. I did notice my signal to noise on my cable modem stabilize and the quality of the signal got better.
