I'm using this with a 20 to 75 power spotting scope for target practice. The horizontal and vertical slow motion adjustments are BETTER than the stock tripod that came with the scope. This is on a scale of POOR, GOOD, BETTER, and BEST. However, the connection between the tripod head and the pin that attaches the head to the tripod legs is POOR since it has a disturbing amount of play. This results in shaky images in the spotting scope while adjusting focus, which adds to the trial-and-error nature of trying to get a sharp image. This trial-and-error is what I was trying to eliminate with a better mount. Once you stop touching the scope, the tripod seems ridged enough to provide a decent image. The tube on which the head is mounted is a standard size so I was able to remove it from the tabletop legs and insert it into another tripod with longer legs. This allows me to position the scope on the ground next to the shooting table - eliminating another source of movement. For what it cost with shipping, I did not get my money's worth.
