It works for what we needed, a good cheap system that is running windows and not a tablet. Exactly what we needed, I may end up buying a few more. We are a small office and just needed a system for the few times we travel this works well.

Got the Asus for a long trip to the South Pacific. Did not want to take my MacBook Pro and had to keep my carry on bag weight low as I was already carrying a lot of camera gear. So I researched netbooks for the basics- WiFi, internet and big HD for backing up pictures. I wish I could have afforded a MacBook Air, but no such luck. I also wanted at least 2 gig ram and a matte screen. So I researched this unit, decent reviews for what it is: a good netbook for the basics. Not meant for heavy duty photo/video editing etc, The unit arrived and it worked right away, no problems. Connected to my wireless and worked fine in Australia, Tahiti & New Zealand. I did download Firefox and Malwarebytes right away. I also got a small Microsoft mouse for this. I found the unit to work much better using a mouse. Facebook, Twitter, Email and YouTube worked fine on this unit. Took a while to get use to the screen size. Screen is good and a matte screen (which I wanted). Unit is light weight and I got a sleeve for it. so this unit worked out fine for me on the trip, doing just what I wanted: backing up my pictures, Email, WiFi, and Facebook. No problems so far. It fit just fine into my loaded Lowe Mini Trekker backpack. So I do recommend this unit for travel. Battery life has been good and having the built-in SD card reader is a bonus. Will get a small DVD player/burner for this in the future.

I have put off buying a laptop for many years due to the cost vs building a new desktop. I finally have a need for a portable system, and this one works perfectly for me

A pretty nice little laptop for the money. Of course it's not a powerhouse, but does everything I need of it. It's about the same price (and not much bigger) as some tablets, but provides the full x86 Windows experience. I like being able to hook it up to my 60" plasma via HDMI and running RC Simulator programs to practice flying in my living room. The portability is also nice for taking it to the field as it feels a little more tough than some of the ultrabooks. It also fits very nicely in the Case Logic 10.2 Netbook & iPad Case. The only real negative to the 1015E is the touchpad. It's small, and to take advantage of the Windows 8 swipe capabilities, it makes the usable area even smaller in the center and a little jumpy. If you get to close to an edge, you will activate a swipe when you don't want it.
