I've had it for a month and it has not malfunctioned in any way. Win8 is a pain, so much wasted time and I have yet to find a shell that reverts it to Win7 successfully without occasional surprises, which I can get out of but my husband couldn't. It's a beautiful machine and feels especially high-quality, solid. (It's hard getting totally fluid with the touchpad "keys"--just a thump on the left half or the right half is a mouse left/right click but it's easy to hit on the right side when you want the left--no physical delineation between the two sides--but it's not a dealbreaker and I feel confident I will develop foolproof skills and master it. And also a very good price for something that feels on the cutting edge of high quality.

For the price I think this is a nice product. I use it primarily for web based research and collecting/listening to music. Right out of the box the thing was running pretty slow considering the impressive processor and RAM space but after cleaning out the start-up programs and uninstalling some unwanted programs it's running very nicely. WIndows 8 takes some getting used to but really isn't bad in the least.

Got this laptop to travel with. At the time it was the only I5 with 8g.ram/750g.hd for under $500. I have been using it for pic editing and storage + online video streaming. Why they put the speakers facing the bottom boggles my mind & truly does not sound correct. Especially if you use The "Lap Top" computer on your lap and your clothing muffles the sound! Wish Windows 7 was and option because Windows 8 is just flat out frustrating to use. Looking back, I would have paid the extra $100 bucks for a backlit keyboard, better sound and a windows downgrade.

I researched laptops for a good manufacturer that would last at least four years or more. Asus is rated the highest in the consumer reports. Easy and detailed descriptions on how to use Windows 8 as well as adding additional options of your choice. Perfect. I have had Toshiba, HP, Dell and many other laptops and computers and found that Asus is the best overall and lasted the longest after interviewing many people who purchased this product. Full size keyboard, so easy to use and came with three year accidental warranty along with a one year manufacturer warranty also. Got it on sale through Adorama was a hundred dollars lower than all other places selling identical product.

I bought my Asus K55A to use for business purposes. I was worried about the weight but have found it to be quite manageable. This was my first experience with Windows 8 as well and after some time getting used to the new operating system I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. The speed of this unit is impressive, outperforming my home computers side to side. I am also impressed with the batterly life. All in all, for the price, I don't think I could have done better.

I am getting ready to go back to school. That means several thing to me, I need to save time and money, all while working with a great product. This laptop is filled with all the features I was looking for to begin my classses in web design. I knew that I needed to have a machine that would take me through all of my school work and beyone. I am confident that I fo und the right one. Other than getting used to windows8 I am very happy with my purchase. I would recomend this computer to anyone.

I got this laptop for college and I am loving it so far. It is way faster than my old laptop and turns on and off extremely fast. I've played a few games on it and they have all ran very smoothly especially for a laptop. I've been using this for a couple of weeks now and haven't had a single problem(except getting used to windows 8.) This laptop is great for the price I got it for.
