The Asus VivoBook 15.6" Multi-Touch Ultrabook Computer features a traditional notebook computer design, but has a touchscreen for added convenience. You'll be able to use your keyboard, mouse and now your fingers as you can tap directly on tiles instead of clicking on them.
The system is powered by a dual-core Ivy Bridge 1.7GHz Intel Core i5-3317U processor. It also has 6GB of 1600MHz DDR3 RAM, a 500GB 5400rpm hard drive with a 24GB solid state drive cache, a SuperMulti DVD burner, a Secure Digital media card reader, 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth4.0, an integrated webcam and microphone.
Windows 8 home premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system. Windows 8 home premium replaces the traditional Start menu with a redesigned Start screen. The Start screen features tiles, which provide notifications in real-time. Windows 8 home premium also focuses more on cloud storage as well as apps, which can be downloaded from the Windows Store. Windows 8 home premium provides a unique user experience that differs from previous versions of Windows.
It is a very solid laptop. The only problemi i have with it is that it sometimes has a lag
I like the computer. There are somethings that you have to learn on your own. One thing i can not get the number lock to work. Other than that it is great
Nice laptop, with full keyboard including number pad. Touch screen responsive, and overall good computer for nice price.
I purchased this in Jun-2013. This is a personal laptop which i gave as gift to my brother. After a month usage. His comments are as following. 1) Touch screen functions well. 2) Processing speed is good. 3) Keyboard is comforatble. 4) body is stylish. Also he mentioned the following cons. for the price Adoram is offering, i feel the below points can be neglected. 1) Audio quality is very poor. He mentioned that even if he turn the voice bar to 100%, the audio is not coming out as expected. This could be due to improper placement of speakers. ( I noticed if i lift the laptop, the sound looks high. but when i place the laptop on table or ground, i too noticed that the sound is not as expected). 2) It feels heavier. 3) To open the laptop screen, sometimes i feel its hard.
1. International warranty 2. I asked whether the laptop's power specifications suitable for abroad usage but I received the power adapter that works for India. wonderful.
This is my personal computer. Its speed is great!! The only downside is Windows 8. It seems to take time to get used to it!
I write novels after my 9:00 - 5:00, so I basically live on my computer, and I wanted to pick up something that would also be able to run games, play music and whatnot. So far, this has done the trick. I thought I wouldn't use the touchscreen, but I do actually find it an additional layer of functionality. It's a bit picky and you certainly can't use it the way you would a tablet, but why would you with an enormous keyboard? It starts up extremely quickly and it runs quietly and coolly. It gets along with all of the programs I use, runs video and music fine, and for a laptop, it has pretty decent speakers. I've had no trouble with the ethernet. Games have run smoothly so far through Steam. It hasn't choked on my endlessly long documents, even though I'm editing them in Open Office, and the really large PDFs I sometimes load have loaded quickly. Downsides: Windows 8 is unfortunately just as aggravating as people say it is, but we can't fault the laptop for that. I know people are in love with chicklet keyboards, but I just can't like them. The one truly aggravating thing is that the trackpad is finnicky. It often thinks I'm entering the shortcut for switching windows or going fullscreen when I'm just trying to move the cursor, and it takes a lot of fiddling with the settings to get it to stop. Still, if that's the only problem I encounter, and so far that does seem to be the case, this is a great way for getting Desktop power and speed out of a portable machine.
Well built laptop - resolution could have been better instead of age old 1366x768. Touch screen is fast & responsive.
This is a great computer. I love the touch screen and I even like Windows 8 the more I learn to use it. I really recommend the ASUS. I also have had great service from Adorama.
The price is great; it's quite fast for what I need. And I really like the touch screen with Windows 8. I can more easily organize and access the programs I use most.
