The Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A-DB71 13.3" Ultrabook Computer takes portability to the next level. With a super slim profile of about two-thirds of an inch and a weight of less than 3 pounds, this Asus Zenbook Prime was built for ultimate mobility. While thin and lightweight, this Asus Zenbook Prime is far from fragile. It has a spun aluminum lid with precise-etched concentric circles to match its silver hairline chassis for a solid build and stylish design.
The 13.3" widescreen IPS display features LED lamps, which brighten faster and use less energy than their CCFL counterparts. The screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is also the standard for HDTVs. The Full HD 1920 x 1080 native resolution is supported by integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000. The screen has an antiglare finish, which is great for use in brightly lit conditions.
The system is powered by a dual-core 1.7 GHz Intel Core i7-3517UE processor. It also has 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, a 256 GB solid state drive, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, an integrated webcam and microphone. This Asus Zenbook Prime also has built-in stereo speakers powered by Bang and Olufsen ICEpower. Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

I was waiting for months for the new Zenbook Prime to come out before purchasing one of the "Ultrabooks". I placed the order for this product on Adoramas site on July 22nd as they were one of the first Asus sellers to have this product. It was originally out of stock and I received it at the end of July. It has not connected to the internet longer than 10 minutes as the connection is dropped even with excellent signal strength on 5 different wireless servers. 3 of these servers are at work where I have connected seamlessly with my HP, Dell laptops previously. The "sleep" mode is buggy and goes into the Windows error recovery message screen "Windows did not shut down successfully" EVERY time you close the lid, the display times out or you push the power button and choose Sleep (instant on). Forget trying to return or exchange at Adorama as the fine print on ordering does not indicate that you can't do it. Forget about Asus support as all of the help I have tried to receive over 5 calls to this point have been worthless. I will be pushing for an RMA tomorrow for replacement as I am extremely disappointed in this product that cost over $1400! Purchase at CDW or another seller if you want to be able to return or exchange. Consider another Ultrabook, I may even go Mac at this point.
