Andrew R  Yes, this unit can operate using 8 "AA" batteries
gerry j  Is there a camera mount for this telescope and, if so, will it work with a canon d60?
MIKE R  I tried a standard SLR adapter with my Canon XT and never got the focal length to match. I never figured out if an extender tube would have helped. Ended up selling the telescope.
