Of course, it is heavier than fiberglass or carbon, but it is also much more stable, and nothing dampens vibrations better than wood. Could feel the difference first time I used it. Wouldn't take it on a long hike, but prefer it over my glass and carbon tripods for all other tasks, which is most of the time.
