About Berlebach 3032

Berlebach ash wood tripods are low-vibration products. Ash wood is capable of compensating for the shudders and vibrations that constantly occur in the working environment. It will ensure that you get exceptional results with your camera or your sensitive optical or measuring equipment.

Wood is electrically non-conductive, thus preventing the damaging effects of electromagnetic fields and electrostatic charging. Thanks to their favorable weight. Berlebach ash wood tripods deliver optimum stability under load. Berlebach ash wood tripods are robust and ideal for tough day to day use.

Berlebach ash wood tripods can be used in climatic extremes. They have served, for instance, on expeditions to the north and south pole, in the desert and the rain forest. Unlike metal tripods, wooden tripods warm up very slowly in direct sunlight. In extremely cold conditions, you can touch a wooden tripod without having to wear gloves.

Berlebach has been using ash wood- a renewable raw material- for almost 100 years. The processed wood, know as sport ash, comes from the best controlled forests in Europe. It is especially hard-wearing and elastic, as well as resistant to the forces of nature. This version has a Camouflage finish.

Having been dried, the wood is stored, prior to processing, for two years to eliminate any tension within the wood as a result of growth. Several layers of protecting varnish guarantee long-term care of the wood's surface. Berlebach ash wood tripods have earned several awards for outstanding design achievement. Berlebach ash wood tripods guarantee best value for money.

The 3032 is an excellent choice for large format shooters. Forgoes a center column to save extra amounts of weight, & instead incorporates a levelling ball with a built-in spirit level. It provides you with 30° of quick correction in every direction.

This is likely all you'll ever need for a large format camera, with it's independent leg spread . A spring-loaded 1/4"-20 threaded camera screw naturally pushes up at all times, which is so fast and intuitive to use that tops most quick release mechanisms in time, actually quicker than the very popular vise-like Arca-type quick release mechanism.

By Placing your camera on the support platform, turning it around until you feel the spring-loaded tripod screw push into the camera's tripod socket, then turning the screw clockwise from underneath the ball you are all set up.

The settings allow you to move the camera, but the camera will not move on its own, even when the levelling ball has not been tightened further, due to the progressive tension of the ball.

Great Alternative to the UberTech Option

I got the 2032 non camo version. I'm a newb but bought this on the recommendation of a 40+ year pro. This tripod is rock solid. No wobbles or little vibrations. I would say it's just the right weight and I personally love the vintage traditional look. Not to mention the lifetime warranty, but I will say if you need that you will have to of seriously mistreated this tripod by like dropping off a rocky cliff. Lightweight, steady, excellent value.

It's a great value for the features, the fit and finish are excellent. I was a bit concerned if it would support my 8x10 Calumet C1 metal camera, but it does the job well. It looks spindly at full extension but it's as steady as much heavier tripods. The ball type levelling feature works great, and saves additional weight because you can use it without a head if you want. Carbon fiber is nice, but this tripod does the job well at less than half the price. Also, the wood is attractive in my opinion.

A joy to use

By

from Piha, New Zealand  -  Pro Photographer

I bought this trip to use with my 4x5 camera and 617, but due to it's ease of use I'm grabbing it all the time. The integrated leveling ball allows me to ditch my ball head, so set ups are very very straight forward. My only caution is the forums I wasted my time researching Berlebachs were obsessed with weight, the reality is that a tripod that's only 3.2 kgs is light. I'm probably going to keep this one, sell my manfrottos, and buy a Berlebach Uni for more leg extension on rough terrain- Carbon is dead, long live wood.

Excellent and simple to use

Very solid, easy to use tripod. I like that you don't have to buy a separate head for it and that the screw from the integral ballhead screws up from the bottom into your tripod plate of the camera. Great product. Also seems very solid. I'm using for my Toyo 45A LF camera.

Good Tripod

By

I've had limited use with this product but seems to be sturdy enough to support my Calumet C-1 (8x10) which is a heavy camera.
