I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this monopod. Most importantly it is very sturdy (no flex at all) even when fully extended. I primarily use it with a d610 and 70-200 f/2.8, often with 2.0 extender. The flip locks are easier and faster to operate than the twist locks I have on my carbon fiber tripod. The product finish is excellent. Foam grip on upper section is nice. I added a Really Right Stuff monopod head and quick release so I can easily use my camera's RRS L-Plate on either the monopod or my tripod. The swivel foot is nice, especially indoors or on flat surfaces. I'd prefer an additional spike option for rough terrain. Only changes I'd wish for would be a) a reversible or replaceable spike foot and b) a carry bag with shoulder strap. Overall, I would definitely recommend to others.

I really like this monopod! I especially appreciate the flip locks and the height of the unit. I hate having to hunch over to use my camera viewfinder, so this works very well, even without using a ball head on it. The unit is quite sturdy and is helpful as a walking stick in place of my cane. The new rotating foot is also a nice touch.

Had a Manfrotto 681B break in two while shooting a game. I often take my monopod off when players approach the end-zone and prefer to hand-hold my 300mm for a little more responsiveness. I gently toss the monopod behind me and out of the way of play, but this time it snapped in two. After seeing another Tog with a Benro (Magnesium Alloy version), I liked what I saw and decided to get a Benro but opted for the stronger carbon fiber version. At first I thought the extra leg section would slow my adjustments ...my Manfrotto only had three which made for quick adjustments, however; the height of the fourth section on the Benro is perfect once set, and all I have to do when moving from bended knee to stranding is extend the two top sections and it is perfect. That being the case, I actually make less adjustments than I did with my Manfrotto. Plus, the Benro quick lock leg clips with anti-rotation leg system just feel more solid than the Manfrotto 681's when opening and closing the clips. The Benro C48F is SOLID yet super lightweight, not to mention the carbon fiber legs and styling just looks first class!

The Benro C48F monopod has always been the choice for photographers who need the lightest weight support, are limited in working space or photograph events that are constantly on the move. Now featuring a unique Pod foot, Benro monopods are more stable than ever.
