Wonderful Tripod

from Florida  -  Photo Enthusiast

Great for short trips, but too heavy to carry for long periods. Very sturdy and easy to use.

Great tripod, mediocre attachment system

from Stockton, NJ  -  Semi-pro Photographer

This is a very stable, easy to use tripod. It's a little heavy but cheaper than carbon fiber, so... But my problem is with the plate that attaches to the base of your camera and then locks onto the head of the tripod. The screw that connects the plate to the camera uses a screw that can't be hand-tightened, only by using a coin (or maybe you have really strong fingernails. I don't.) My Manfrotto Monopod uses a screw with a trapezoidal wire extending from it that can be folded up for tightening and then folded flat against the plate. This tripod does not. Good thing I own a machine shop; I had one of the machinists re-work the screw and then I machined the excess material in the plate to accommodate the larger piece and now it works well. But if you don't have this in-house capability you may struggle when attaching the camera to the tripod. Or just make sure you always have change in your pockets.

great price

from Sandusky, OH  -  Semi-pro Photographer

A stable tri-pod. a little slow to change the leg heights due to turn knobs. but works well for my needs. great price.

This is a really nice tripod

from Murfreesboro, TN  -  Semi-pro Photographer

This is a very sturdy tripod, but more than the average enthusiast probably needs. I already had a Manfrotto head, or I probably would have bought something as good, but less expensive.

Really pleased

from Spearfish, SD  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I am a newly "professional" landscape photographer and have been slowly adding good equipment to my bag. After several frustrating starts with lightweight tripods I really am pleased with this for the price.

Passes the torsion regidity test.

from LA, Calif.  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I tested one of these against some far more expensive tripods with the same diameter tubing and it held it's own. Grab the tripod half way between the head and the top leg lock and twist. I good one shouldn't twist and this is a good one. The center column is the weak link....don't use it.
