Black anodized three section monopod featuring sure rubber grip, wrist carrying strap, quick action lever leg lock system with 45° flip, large 2.3" camera/head platform with plastic cover and dual 1/4-20" - 3/8" camera screw.
Head - A self-adjusting conical bearing locking system allows 360° rotation on both the vertical and horizontal plane. This is the ideal head for 35mm and light to medium format work.
This monopod is very useful when shooting wildlife or sports events, where a quick setup, adjustment, and fast relocation is necessary. It works great with heavy telephoto lenses, like a Nikon 28-300mm. It maybe a little heavy, but it is built well and the leg clamps are strong. I like to use it in conjunction with Manfrotto tripods withs a different head with quick releases.
Got this monopod to replace earlier version which unfortunately got damaged after almost 15 years of great service. While I am pretty good when shooting at slower speeds, having a support such as this monopod is a definite plus, even with vibration-reduction lenses. When working with longer focal lengths, it is a MUST. I'm happy to say that the new version of this monopod is as well built as the original and has some great additions (especially the rubber grip, extra large mounting base and improved locking clamps.) Will be using this with my D300 and D600, especially when using my Tamron 200-500mm tele and my Nikkor 70-300mm VR zoom lenses. What I love about it is that while it is extremely strong, it is light weight and compact. This a great piece of equipment to have when you need some extra support and don't have the time to set up a tripod. I have quick releases for the cameras and lenses so I can be ready to go very quickly. It also doubles as a neat walking stick when hiking. All in all, a "must have" for any serious photographer.
Excellent product. Well constructed. Great value for the price. Holds Sigma 150-500mm lens.
I find it ideal in situations where a tripod is too conspicuous or bulky--videotaping child's piano recital or school production. Great on the sidelines with a telephoto.
Being my first real monopod. This one seems to be put together well. Finish is nice and it wont break the bank.
Purchased for upcoming photo safari to Tanzania
Good value for the money. Very sturdy so far. Holds a 300 2.8, Nikon D300 plus grip with no problem.
The mono pod is great. It is easy to use and locks fast and securely - much better than the twist type locks.
Perfect for sports photography
Excellent built, easy to operate. Manfrotto quality throughout. It can be used on its own with the camera, without the head. However, it is on the heavy side.
