I needed a lightweight tripod that I could trust to hold my D200 vertically for portraits. Very pleased with the construction, feel and stability. Note the bottom of the quick-release plate has arrows indicating the lens side (front) for attachment to your camera body. This seems to be reversed as the plate will not fully lock onto the head in this position. This is easily remedied by turning it around and is not a functional issue.

The tripod is used by the artist to photograph her sculptures, etc. and is good for that. Aluminum cast parts aren't really precise and you must handle them with care.

This is a very professional piece of equipment that is relatively light weight, easy to use, very well made, a pleasure to use.

This head is specifically designed to allow both still photographic and video applications. The long locking pan handle coupled with special Teflon pads assures easy adjustment with smooth pans and tilts. The head has a quick-release camera platform, which can be flipped for vertical orientation of still photographic cameras.
