About Manfrotto 701HDV,755

This kit contains the 701HDV Pro Fluid Video Mini Head and the MVT502AM Tripod. The 701HDV was developed specifically to support the latest prosumer and professional light compact HD camcorders, the 701HDV offers an updated design, which has been created for improved ergonomics with locks and knobs that allow for a more solid grip and better control, a better fluidity thanks to improved internal fluid cartridges, a double pan-bar rosette and a bigger sliding plate to optimize the position of the camera considering its centre of gravity. The MVT502AM Tripod is a compact, lightweight video tripod designed for HD video-capable DSLRs, camcorders and light video cameras equipped with accessories, lights, monitors and microphones. Rigid, stable and secure thanks to its telescopic twin-leg structure, ellipse-profile aluminum tubes, new leg locking collars, first-stage spreader and high-grip rubber feet, the MVT502AM is also intuitively easy to use, allowing you set up faster and concentrate on filming.

Manfrotto at this price?!

By

I'm a freelance video guy, I use this mostly for DSLR shooting and some time lapse. This tripod is a Manfrotto for sure: solid, fluid, lightweight and decently built for the price. If you need a tripod for high work volume, I wouldn't recommend this model because it doesn't have the same heavy-duty build quality as the more expense tripods, but that should be expected. Having used the pro video models from manfrotto, this does lack those easy moving and hefty leg locks, adjustable spreader and grippy/spikey feet. The legs do stick a bit when adjusting with weight, due to a little leg wobble when unlocked. The fluid head is great. I push the limits of it with a slider and mounted camera, but can work with it. The bottom line is that this is so much better than I expected any tripod in this price range to be.
