About Manfrotto

The Manfrotto Pro Studio Rail System is a modular overhead lighting suspension system which can be expanded or modified to your requirements. It provides precise positioning of lights with ease and speed, eliminating the clutter of light stands and power cables on the floor. The systems utilize a combination of rails, carriages, telescopic posts and manual spring/cable assisted or motorized pantographs. This is an 4 Pantograph System, for a larger-size studio.

Manfrotto Features

  • The Pantograph supports a load of up to 26lbs suspended from 1' 6" to 6' 6" using only the friction device, while loads up to a maximum of 40lbs require the use of the optional springs. The pantograph can be adjusted to keep suspended loads from 2lbs to 10lbs perfectly balanced
  • The colored ring can adjust the pantograph's friction; this will ensure that the load remains stable when set in position, but that it will move smoothly up and down when necessary. It is advisable to use springs to aid raising the pantograph
  • Each pantograph extends from 1'6" to 6'6"
  • Nylon wheels with metal ball bearings ensure safe operation with loads of up to 39.5 lbs
  • Extruded aluminum rails enable efficient utilization of studio perimeter walls and corners for backlighting, drapes and background paper
  • All components are black, to eliminate unwanted reflections

Questions about this item:

Shopper  I also have a drop celling can that work?
CHRIS H  I don't know if I'm too late in answering this, but I have a solid drywall ceiling over joists (old house/studio). Also not sure what the full question was, but if you are wanting to mount any rail system, it's gotta be anchored into something VERY substantial to support the weight of your lights. You'll have to go into studs at least. I can't imagine trying to work around the drop ceiling. Hope this helps.
Shopper  How hi must my celling be for this and can someone come out and put this up?
Brenda T  I would not install the 54 system in anything less than 10ft ceilings, easy to install with proper connections to structural supports, do not tie to ceiling tile or weak structure. Make sure you begin with a plan to attach as the system comes with flat plate ceiling connections, if you need stand offs or extensions to get to rigid structure then you need to plan for that. Level the long rails is critical. 2 people can install in about 6-8 hours pending tools and level of skill. Email us if you have question we can send images or answer other questions for serious inquiry.
