About Manfrotto MBAG90PN

A tripod is a wonderful thing. Carrying one never has been... until now. At Manfrotto, they know more than most about the subject, so it was in their own interest as much as it was in yours to develop a complete range of carrying and transportation solutions designed around the one piece of photo or video kit that most bag manufacturers conveniently choose to ignore , your beloved tripod.

With their new carrying systems, Manfrotto worked from the inside out to invent new contoured bag shapes that fit your kit and offer convenient ways of setting up and breaking down faster.

A "space pad" that lets you shoulder carry your tripod without risking bangs and bruises, an open backpack that keeps your hands free, your tripod protected and weight to a minimum.

Whether you want a handle or strap that doesn't even have to be removed from your tripod when you set up a shoot, or whether you need a protective shell to get your kit safely through baggage hall hell, we're pleased to say we've got the solution.

With innovative technical features, prime materials and first class construction methods, the quality of all Manfrotto bags and carrying solutions is up to the high standards you expect from Manfrotto.

Manfrotto MBAG90PN Features

  • The MBAG90P is padded to protect your equipment and has the following features:
  • Asymmetric tapered shape allows you to store the tripod with the head attached.
  • Tripod legs fit comfortably in the narrower end (diameter 20cm - 7.87") and extra space is allowed for the larger volume of the head at the wider end (diameter 23cm - 9").
  • This also means it's easier to put the tripod and head in the bag, even if the head levers and knobs are fitted and jut out slightly.
  • Zip extends down the length of the bag, but also fully opens the top end of the bag.
  • Again this makes it easier to get your tripod in and out of the bag, but it also means you can extract the tripod quickly from the end of the bag like an arrow from a quiver.
  • Thermoform padding holds the tripod in place in the bag and protects it, especially the head, during transport.
  • Serves a double purpose by protecting you from the tripod's hard edges when carrying it by your side.
  • Inner pocket holds accessories (such as video head pan bars) where they won't rattle around or get damaged
  • Innovative design and style; ballistic nylon, zips and other materials used are of top quality
  • Can be hand-carried horizontally by the side handle, vertically by the end handle (also useful for storage), or shoulder-carried using the included strap.

Perfect Fit

I own a Sachtler DV2 tripod with a Manfrotto 503HDV head. When I purchased the new head the set would not fit in my old case. The new set measured 33", this is a 35" bag. It fits perfectly. The strap is comfortable, the handles are easy to use as well. Great for storage and travel, also rather durable.

Padded or Not

I am a landscape photgraphy enthusiast. As such I travel a lot by car with my gear in the trunk. The padded feature appealed to me as I usually leave the head attached and want to protect it. I find the padding adequate but causes the unit to be bulkier than I would like. Additionally, opening and especially, closing the case can be problematic as the top is circular and attached in one small area. A larger, easier to zip, zipper is needed.

It fit the tripod / head combination perfectly, but very bulky. It will provide great protection and room of extra items

This is the Rolls Royce of Tripod Bags!

By

from Buena Park, CA  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I have been going nuts trying to find a tripod bag that was large enough at the top for my early 1970's vintage Bogen tripod and three axis head. The MBAG90PN is the only bag I could find after an extensive search that would accommodate my tripod other then bags that were 10" to 12" too long. It cost more then I planed on spending but, because of the quality, it was worth every penny. The material, the over built attachment points for the strap and handles and even the stitching convey an air of quality. In the 1960's and 70's I had an unpadded canvas bag for my steel Majestic tripod that I used for view cameras. It was designed mainly as a convenient means of caring the tripod and it's accessories. It took a few minor bumps without harm, but I was always concerned about damage to my tripod from something big. By comparison, the Manfrotto bag is very well padded and I would be astonished if anything other then a major impact could damage its contents. The only real negative I have observed is that the zipper is stiff and, therefore somewhat hard to move around it's length of travel. However, I am hoping that with time it will loosen up. If you want a light weight bag, this is not the lightest bag in the world; although it is not bad considering that protection, not weight, was obviously the most important design perimeter. It is designed to safely handle big heavy professional tripods. This is a top quality tripod bag that will work well with any tripod within its size range.

fitted my tripod with gimbal , barely!

By

Well padded product protects my Manfrotto tripod with a Beike gimbal. It is a tight fit though.Another millimeter longer, would have had to remove the gimbal head. Because of its weight I only take this out when photographing wildlife or landscapes, I would risk this product with my checked-in baggage. It would have been an improvement if the zippers were lockable.

Perfect for my Manfrotto Tripod

By

This padded tripod case is just what i was looking for. I have a heavy manfrotto tripod which fits in perfectly even with the tripod head attached. Now I don't have to remove the tripod head and it will be protected inside this case.

holds what I want it too.

I own 2 of these bags and they work great. one fits my Manfrotto 755xb tripod with photovideo head. Fits very nicely and not too tight and offers what I deem great protection. There is even a little pocket on the inside that is zippered and is perfect for the video arm that comes off many fluid video heads. A important tip that I did not notice when i was first buying these bags is that the MBag90PN comes with hand straps to carry the MBag80PN is shoulder carry only which can be really annoying sometimes. I like having the option. The bags are very well padder and the zippers feel like they could take a shark tearing at it. Although that also means they can be stiff in certain places. The second thing I carry in my MBag90PN is the manfrotto fluid video head monopod 561BHDV. It fits great as well. It's a little smaller and looser fitting but I refuse to get the MBag80PN (which I do also own and holds my 190xprob with joystick head). The bag is a little pricey considering it cost as much as some tripods but if you have ever felt the build on one of these there is very little competition. I would buy another one in a heartbeat and under normal use conditions I'd expect it to last a lifetime.

great bag for tripod protection

If you have a big head on your tripod, this is the bag for you. The zipper is tough to deal with. Not much padding.
