Strong holder

use on D800 and 70-200 and take landscape picture with 64 sec,no problem.

Up to Snuff

Good mid-size head. If clamp tightened more securely, I'd give it five stars. Giving Giotto its due, perhaps I am spoiled by Manfrotto's proprietary lever system, which can't be beat. Ideal travel head, as compact, light in weight, but sturdy.

Robust ball head works well

Holds SLR in correct position.

Questions about this item:

tanil t  What are the differences among the Q2, Q5 and RC4 plates? I really don't know which one to choose.
Helen O  The Q2 and the RC4 plates are designed mostly for still cameras not requiring a large mounting footprint. The Q5 is designed for larger cameras such as camcorders where a large mounting footprint and the added stability are necessary.
tanil t  Thank you very much Helen for your quick response. If you don't mind I would like to ask you another question. As I have read in the forums some people say that the 054 ball head fits better than 055 ball head on 055 type tripods. Is this true? I have got a Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod and would like to know which type of ball head fits better on it, the 054 or the 055? Thanks in advance...
IVAN G  Hi, I bought a Manfrotto tripod 294, has a 3-axis head with levers, I wonder if I can change it with this ball head, if supported by the tripod I have? thanks
PAT H  I am very pleased with this ball head for use with my Canon 7D and the 100-400 lense. It is rock steady
Rick D  Hi, Will this work with a 190XPROB or would another head be a better fit?
VENISA L  I use this head on a 055CXPRO4 tripod and I feel the base of the head is too large for my tripod. I wouldn't recommend it for the 190xprob. The 054 may be a better choice for you. The O54 head wasn't available to order, so I went with the 055. The O55 is a great head. I have no complaints.
