About BenQ SP920P

The BenQ XGA-resolution SP920P DLP Projector, with its 6000 ANSI lumens and 2000:1 contrast ratio, works just as well in a home media room as it does in a brightly lit classroom, auditorium or lecture hall.

In addition to being bright, those images will be vivid and beautiful, thanks to the SP920P's Texas Instruments DLP DMD imaging chip, the part that forms the picture. TI's DLP chip with BrilliantColor uses not just the primary colors of red, green and blue to create images but their complements too: cyan, magenta and yellow. The result is vibrant, true-to-life colors that seem to jump off the screen.

This projector can operate just about anywhere in the world. It can handle power from 100 to 240 V AC at 50 or 60 Hz. Its on-screen display offers 17 languages to choose from.

The SP920P can process and display video signals in NTSC (the North American TV standard), NTSC 4.43, PAL, PAL-N, PAL-M, PAL-60, SECAM and more than two dozen PC and Mac resolution/frequency pairs.

It can also project in 720p, 1080i and 1080p high definition and those signals will stay in pure digital form from their source to the projector, thanks to the SP920P's HDMI v 1.3 port.

The SP920P has virtues beyond its flexibility. Economical mode lowers fan noise to that of a whispered conversation and extends lamp life too. Auto-off also saves money. A built-in FAQ button projects answers to frequently asked questions right on the screen. Quick auto-search finds the active input fast when you have multiple connections and Wall Color Correction corrects the color when you don't have a screen and have to project on a wall or blackboard.

But perhaps the SP920P's most interesting and unusual feature is its dual lamp design. Use both lamps at once (Dual Brightness Mode) and you get 6000 ANSI lumens of brightness. Use them in Dual Reliable Mode and you're using them both in eco mode at 4800 lumens with a 50% increase in lamp life to 3000 hours. The most economical mode is Single Alternative Mode, which uses one lamp at a time at 3000 lumens and a total lamp life of 4000 hours.
