great weight support

I photograph children, a lot of toddlers. This strap comfortably supports the weight of my Canon 5D Mk II with a battery pack, even when I have a long lens on. It lets me run around with the kids with my camera at my side and then quickly pull it up to start shooting. I've only been using this strap a little while but haven't found any negatives about it. Best strap I've ever used.

NICE but needed new connector

By

from Seattle, WA  -  Photo Enthusiast

When I first learned about the BlackRapid straps I knew I would someday be an owner. However, they are expensive so I prototyped one first to make sure I liked the concept and maybe could avoid spending the money. I used an unused golf bag strap I had and some strap buckles to make a reasonable DIY sling. It worked pretty good but the strap was too bulky and the connection to my ThreeLeggedThing mounting bracket was not the best. I ordered the Slim so that my wife could also enjoy the strap. Its a good fit for me too sense I am not that big. Have only been out a couple times but I like it a lot. The under arm strap seems necessary if you hike around. My biggest disappointment is with the connector. The strap comes with a standard connector that does not work with quick connect brackets for tripods. The 3LT tripod comes with a swivel connector but the D-ring is too small for the BR carabiniere. So, needed to order the BR connector, another $18! The new connector does not stay tight. Looks like it needs a rubber washer between it and the quick connect plate. Now I have an expensive strap for my new D7100. I like it.

Excellent product

I really like this strap, it allows me to carry whatever camera I have attached to it in a very convenient position. It appears to be well made, and well designed. My only complaint is the cost, but that's almost universal these days...

Great for hiking or climbing taking intermittent photos; no retrieving and repacking gear repeatedly with bag or backpack. Allows stable carry of longer lenses.
