About Bushnell

BackTrack Point-3 utilizes the latest GPS technology for quicker satellite acquisition and precision accuracy. It has a larger screen with an overall smaller, more sleek size. BackTrack Point-3 has only two buttons and stores up to three locations-just mark it and forget it until it's time to return. At the end of the day, select your location and the BackTrack Point-3 displays the distance and direction to your destination. Use it to find your car in a crowded parking lot, your favorite fishing hot spot, your campsite after a day of hiking, and more! This sleek design easily stows in your pocket, pack, or purse.

I WOULD RECOMMEND

By

I use this mostly for hunting and find it helps find my way back to my truck ,especially after dark. I have found it is important to follow directions about walking in a figure 8 to calibrate it for it to be accurate. So far I have only used it a few times and like it.

Does what it says it will do

By

from NE, IN  -  Casual/ Recreational

No frills, sturdy, and accurate. It could feel a little more solid, but I will have to work hard to break this thing. Dropping it 3 feet onto concrete didn't hurt it. Takes 1-7 minutes to find a satellite, but usually reacquires within 10-60 seconds if turned back on within 5 minutes. Very accurate, remembers way-points during infinite battery changes. Check out the instructions online, it makes finding north easier to do. You have to keep pushing buttons to keep it from turning off.I is nice to be able to check how far from the truck I am (straight line only of course).

Questions about this item:

Shopper  can I use this compass to find a certain degrees for say a Dish TV satellite location?
JAKE R  Yep, in the picture it shows 166 degrees. It also shows all 359 other degrees as well. The arrow swings in about 20 degree increments though so you will have to split the difference for exact degrees. Compass is available immediately upon start-up, locations take 1-4 minutes. I always carry a backup compass to check it against though. For $5 a basic compass will tell you degrees as well.
Shopper  is it easy to use and do it stay on until you turn it off ?
CHARLES A B  Unit stays on or active as long as the user continues to use/follow the selections user has selected. If unit does not detect continued tracking activity it shuts off, to save the battery.
Shopper  Will it work in the forest?
JAKE R  It has never failed to pick up a signal anywhere in Michigan or southern Indiana for me. Forest or no forest. It can take some patience though. Once it finds itself it stays found until it shuts off. Trees, forest, hills, rock faces, it doesn't bother mine...I just sit down and relax for a few and it does its thing.
