Protective filter w/ good build-quality

What can I say, this filter is like "it's not even there". That's what a good filter does. And this B+W filter does exactly that. Made in Germany. Great build quality, and feels solid in your hands. There will be less expensive ones out there, but you get what you paid for with B+W. The color is actually not black as shown on the Adorama website. It's actually brushed-silver. Adds a nice accent to my camera and lens while protecting it too.

Chrome ring - not black like the photo

I bought two of these not realizing that the photo of the item doesn't match the actual item. Although it says the ring is Chromium in the description, the photo is of a black-ringed filter. I only buy B+W filters because of the quality and I'm sure this would have lived up to the other's I own. But needs to be black to match my lenses.

Works great on Micro Four-Thirds Lenses

This Digital Pro filter is actually silver in color (the metal ring). That looks great on my Olympus M.Zuiko ED 12mm f/2.0 lens, and doe not cause any vignetting with that wide angle lens. I also use a 2nd copy of this same filter on my Panasonic Leica 25mm f/1.4 lens, which is a black lens. The silver filter on the black lens doesn't matter, as this lens comes with a lens hood, and the filter is hidden inside of that lens hood. I can not see any visible abnormalities by using either of these two 46mm UV Haze filters.

What a difference a good filter makes

Even though I know that multi-coated glass is the way to go, I first got a common $10 Tiffen UV filter for my new Panasonic FZ28. What a disaster... Although well built, the glass is low quality, causing horrible flare in low-light photos. I removed it and decided it was worth going with the more expensive B+W. I know it well because there's one on my 70-300 mm Olympus lens. There is no comparison: having the B+W filter on the lens is like having nothing at all, optics-wise, and that is exactly what I wanted: protection with no interference.
