This is a superb polarizer filter. It is very thin, especially for a polarixer; this means no light cutoff in the corners except on very wide angle lenses. There is one downside to the thiness, however: There is no room for a front thread, and therefore lens caps cannot be used. Lens hoods can be used. The lens cap is not a problem for me, but buyers should be aware of it.

B+W is one of the three German filter makers I trust. I own Japanese lenses and cameras, but their filters are cheaper and have let me down, contributing to flare and contrast loss. Worse, aluminum rings are hard to get off in various temperature and humidity conditions. A good filter have a machined knurled brass rings with unstressed glass so the glass doesn't bend when the temperature changes. Brass doesn't stick. No need for a filter wrench. Until you've owned one, you don't know what you're missing. Don't put cheap optics on a good lens.

B&W Kaeseman Circular Polarizer Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) Slim Glass filters are constructed from specially selected polarizer foils with especially prepared optical glass. Completely edge-sealed, these Kaeseman encased series filters are designed for maximum durability under extreme climate conditions.
Polarizing filters suppress disturbing reflection on mirrored surfaces like windows or water surfaces. As a result image information can be restored much better as the filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens, and saturate colors, providing better contrast.
Varying the effect is accomplished by rotating the filter, the effect of which can be seen through the viewfinder. The filter factor varies from weaker to stronger according to the filter rotation and its orientation to the sun. The B + W series of slim line filters are intended for wide-angle lenses and are a mere 3mm thick to avoid vignetting. Thus the slim line filters do not have a front thread.
