Can cause lens flares

Using this filter on a Nikon 16-85mm lens causes lens flare when a light bulb is in the frame. Lens flares were clearly visible with the filter. No flares occurred without a filter nor with a multi-coated filter of a different brand (which happens to be less expensive). I haven't tried this filter with any other lenses or very many lighting conditions so I am not sure how widespread this issue is. The glass clarity is good, but the flares can be very distracting.

Worked fine at first

By

The UV filter worked fine until I attached a new Hoya circular polarizing filter. After just one use, the filters would not come apart.

JUST WHAT I NEEDED

By

Only B+W filters for me. I have invested a lot of money in my lens, so I only use the best filters. Like I always say... "Camera bodies come and go but glass last forever"!!

We cannot detect any loss of quality in our images with this filter. A affordable price and better than those "bargain" filters.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do. Adds extra protection for my lens and enables the camera and lens to capture nice photos.

Always Use a UV Filter!

By

from Ironton, OH  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

The first accessory I buy when I get a new camera is a glass UV filter. I wouldn't be without one. Not only does it give UV protection for my photos, but it also provides considerable protection for the front on whatever lens I am using. I always have one permanently on each of my lenses. This is the first B+W brand filter I have bought and it seems to do a better job with UV than the less expensive filters I have used in the past.

Great Filter

By

from Alhambra, CA  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

When I purchased my Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 lens, the salesmen recommended that I should purchase a uv filter for it. It's purpose is to protect your glass from the elements, and it does just that. The filter comes in a little plastic case w/ cushioning. The ring seems to be made from metal and it feels sturdy and strong.I would purchase from B+W again.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  is this filter the same as the B+W 67mm UV Haze MRC 0101 M or uv haze 010 F pro F?
Andrew R  I'm not sure I understand your question. The manufacturer describes this particular model as: "CLEAR UV HAZE SC (010)"
Shopper  Need to knoe if this filter will go for a Nikon D90 SLR Digital Camera?
STEVEN W  Hello, It depends on which lens you are using. If it is a 67 mm lens, it works great- otherwise there should be a size available for your lens.
