About B + W

The B + W 67mm XS-Pro Digital MRC Nano Kaeseman Circular Polarizing Filter is constructed from select polarizer foils and especially prepared optical glass. Kaeseman ("encased") filters are completely edge-sealed for maximum durability under extreme climatic conditions.

XS-Pro filters are extra thin for use with ultra wide angle lenses, yet, they retain their front threads. B + W's MC Nano coating takes filter production to a new level. It features 7-layers of anti-reflection coating as well as improved cleaning capabilities. Water droplets will bead up better and be easier to remove from the filter. This filter is also scratch-resistant.

Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and varied by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun.

If you're out walking on a lovely day - in the mountains or at the beach - and you want to get a fabulous shot of a cloud-filled sky or make the water seem more saturated, then a polarizer is the way to go. This filter is the best way to make the clouds stand out, increase or decrease the saturation of the ocean or increase or decrease the reflection off the water. You can also use this filter when shooting into glass or windows since it will, again, either increase or decrease reflections.

If you're shooting black and white and want to simulate a threatening storm, try throwing on a #25 Red filter. The vista will take on the appearance of an imminent, ominous storm. Along with a UV or Skylight Filter, a polarizing filter should be a part of everyone's gear bag. It can turn a run-of-the-mill image into a stunning, creative photo by increasing color saturation.

XS-Pro Extr a-Slim
Provides extra-slim mounting rings that eliminate problems associated with SLR wide-angle and telephoto imaging. This mount is especially suited for DSLRs with wide angle lenses. This mount will avoid vignetting with most 17mm lenses on a full frame body. Some report success with lenses as wide as 16mm. It has a front thread for additional accessories such as lens caps or hoods. All XS-Pro Digital mounts are made of brass and are matte black to prevent reflections. Only UV, Clear, and Käsemann Circular Polarizers are offered in this mount, with the latest MRC nano coating.

Always Shoot a test to confirm with your equipment.

Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) with Nano Technology
The nano coating is an outer layer of protection that comes standard with all XS-Pro Digital MRC filters. The nanotechnology based characteristic (lotus effect) produces a better beading effect with water making the cleaning of this filter even simpler and faster than ever before. MRC nano has an improved outer (8th) layer over regular MRC.

MRC by B+W is not only an extraordinarily effective multiple layer coating, it is also harder than glass, so that it protects filters from scratches (for instance when cleaning the filters), and it is also water and dirt repellent, thus facilitating filter maintenance.

Amazing Results

I purchased this polarizing filter specifically to photograph waterfalls. This filter eliminated glare and made the photographs pop. B+W makes the best filters in my opinion.

Great Polarizer

By

from Denver, CO  -  Photo Enthusiast

I use this on my Nikon 18-300 lens. The polarizer is thin enough it doesn't interfere at any focal length. Does what it is supposed to do and the pics look great. I'd buy it again if I needed another one...

B+W 67mm XS-Pro Kaeseman Polarizing MRC

By

from Nampa, ID  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I used to always buy Nikon's CP filters, but have recently switched to B+W and have been more than pleased with their quality! This filter is no exception! Easy to attach/unattach, as well as clean. It also does not leave any color cast as some filters can do. Just put it in your shopping cart and click buy -- you won't regret it!

Quality versus cost

By

from Castle Rock, Colorado  -  Pro Photographer

This filter is not a disappointment. I bought this filter the day before going to Ireland. The filter easily threads on, tightens up properly to stay on, and loosens up easily for removal from the lens. This new filter seemed to be a little stiffer in setting the polarization than previous filters I have purchased. That is acceptable to me since the filter will not accidently move once set. On the 1 ½ "wet" sunny days in Ireland, the nano coating easily shed almost all of the raindrops. And with one swipe of the lens cloth, all other raindrops were easily cleared from the filter. The fact that the edges of the filter are sealed will prevent any possible weather damage. Although this filter is somewhat costly, in this case the quality is worth the cost.

Excellent Polarizing Filter

By

from Derry, NH  -  Semi-pro Photographer

This thin filter lets me use my Nikon Zoom lens across its entire focal length without vignetting. Colors are enriched and reflections are reduced. The construction is excellent. It will last until I get careless or loan it out. I use this filter as both a polarizing filter and an impromptu neutral density filter.

Love this filter

By

from Gainesville, GA  -  Pro Photographer

This is my favorite filter. It does a wonderful job eliminating glare and the images are always crisp and clear with no vingetting, even at wide angles. The threading locks on tightly to the lense while the top portion rotates to give you the power to choose just how much glare to allow. Perfect color and effect every time!

Questions about this item:

don g  Can you attach an ND filter with this and a lens cap? I would probably think you could if you attach the ND first directly to lens. Thanks.
