Why are the recharagable batteries 1.2 V and the non-rechargable batteries 1.5V? I am having problems with the rechargable batteries in most of my electronics - alarm clock, wall cloack, wireless mouse, night light and especially my TENS unit. They just do not work right. I'm going to purchase these batteries here now but would like to know the answer. Thanks - Jacquelyn Jones

Power output for batteries has a lot to do with the formulation that makes up the battery. Typical output for Lithium, Alkaline and Carbide batteries is 1.5 volts. NiMH rechargeable batteries are typically 1.2 volts. Some devices have specific power requirements that preclude the use of rechargeable batteries, though a great many devices are adaptable and can use either Alkaline (or Lithium) or NiMH rechargeables.
