The MH-C490F charger has the Delta-V based microprocessor, which allows the 9 V batteries to be charged to their full potential. The microprocessor automatically switches from rapid charge to trickle charge after the batteries are finished charging, so that the batteries will maintain their full capacity.

Required actual 9V batteries (as opposed to nominal 9V) for model railroad throttles. Nominal 9V batteries do not last long in these devices. This charger handles all 9V LiMH or NiMH batteries and has LED for each battery to indicate charging status. Unit came with AC adapter and automobile power cable, allowing charging on-the-fly. The batteries and charger were initially designed for paint ball guns. The four batteries ordered with the charger (9.6V Imedion, also from Adorama) took slightly longer than the hours to fully charge; this is normal for initial run. Performance to date has been great, but have not exactly pushed the batteries or the charger to their limits.
