Description
· The Tri-Lite II is the latest version of the best-selling Tri-Lite continuous lighting unit. Using high-frequency flicker-free fluorescent light sources, the Tri-Lite creates a smooth, directional light that is particularly suitable to digital photography and those using simple cameras for Web photography.
· Inside the Tri-Lite are three 30w lamps. Together they create a light intensity that is the equivalent of almost 450w of conventional tungsten light sources. Because the fluorescent lamps create almost no heat, the Tri-Lite can be positioned near the subject in order to generate the highest levels of illumination without damaging the subject with intense heat.
· To create a smooth light source the Tri-Lite incorporates a translucent deflector and features a matte white finish to the reflector interior. For easy positioning a handle is attached to the rear of the unit. The Tri-Lite is supplied complete with 5m power cable, 3 x 30w fluorescent lamps and the translucent diffuser. It weighs 4.18 lbs (1.9kg) has a reflector diameter of 330mm and a length (including handle) of 425mm.
· Although flash lighting is now the predominant means of illumination used by the serious photographer, there are occasions when the use of continuous lighting is more suitable, if not essential. Of particular note is the recent widescale adoption of digital scanning backs which by their nature, dictate the use of a continuous light source. Bowens have recently introduced two continuous lightsources and in doing so have endeavoured to give the photographer the ability to use as many of the lighting techniques that are used with flash.
· The Bowens Tri-Lite, so called because of the three fluorescent light tubes round which it is based, is a cool flicker free light source primarily for use in digital still and scanning photography or video capture. The three highly efficient 30W fluorescent lamps provide the equivalent output of 300w tungsten light with no heat or UV output, meaning that the Tri-Lite can be placed closer to the subject than incandescent or flash lighting.
· The Tri-Lite is supplied with a light output intensifying reflector and diffuser which together give an exceptionally soft lighting effect. This makes the Tri-Lite easy to use and ideally suited for professional and semi-professional digital capture for desktop and internet publishing.
· If you want to shoot perfect still life pictures, then nothing is simpler or more effective than the Redwing Cacoon . This semi-rigid light tent will give perfect soft, reflection free lighting for every subject. The cocoon is made from 4 translucent diffuser panels that simply zip together. It features 3 shooting holes so subjects can be shot from many different positions. The Cocoon completely removes unsightly highlights and distracting reflections.
