Great little lens

I'm a big fan on this lens. It is light, sharp and optically fast. I've been using it for years, first on film and now on digital. I also use it with an EF25 Extension tube for light macro work. It's light enough to take on my backpacking trips, and it has a really useful focal length for portraits with outstanding bokeh. A real sleeper in the canon lineup. It would be great if they would re-introduce this same lens with the USM motor for faster AF and instant manual focus override... until then, I love the current version.

Sharp useful portrait lens

This is a nice light weight f2.8 lens. This lens is just as sharp as my canon 70-200 L f4 (on soft focus of 0). The auto focus isn't as fast as my L but it's not bad. If you need a mid-range telephoto lens and you don't have an L this is a great lens. Since I bought an L that is in this same range I ended up selling this lens since I stopped using it.
