Perfect Landscape and Architecture Lense

I've just had this lense for about 3 weeks and haven't gotten to use it to it's full potential but so far I m loving it. Bonus, it doesn't feel that heavy to me and I'm 5'2". It takes very sharp pictures and focuses quickly. You can also get very close to objects (~12") which is very nice. No cons here!

Time for Landscape Photography

By

from Atlanta

Hey All Always I used to go with my Great Combo 5dm3 with 70-200 ii which is always giving me the "WOW" pictures. But for long time I was not happy with wide angle focal length with 24-105/24-70 2.8 ii/16-35 2.8 Then later I bought this lens after seeing the paper configuration and it blows me away :). Yes its very sharp @ 24-35mm but 16-23 is acceptable and not bad. If you want to feel the meaning of Sharpness what I refer here, please see the image I have attached here. Just make sure to use proper filters to get professional grade shots. Now its time for Landscape Photography, Go with Confidence...

Love this lens

By

from Orlando, Fl  -  Semi-pro Photographer

Suprisingly low distortion and chroma shifts for such a wide lens. Great for astro photography. It's a bit on the large size but that can be expected, fast af, profiles available with adobe and its quite sharp for something that is so wide.

Awesome

By

from Upland California

This lens is absolutely awesome. I had to be really be careful to not get too close to the edge of places and had to be aware to keep my feet out of the shot. Every shot was razor sharp using a 6D.

Outstanding Lens!

By

from Nashville

I'm a hobbyist. My go-to camera has been a Nikon D-7000 with an AF-S DX Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II...a good one-lens solution for traveling. Recently, however, received a full-frame Canon 6D with an EF 24-105 f4L IS USM lens as a retirement gift. I used it exclusively on a trip to Japan and was very impressed with the performance of both the camera and lens. More than anything, however, the wider view with the 6D's full-frame sensor vs. the D7000's crop sensor was an eye-opener. I stared researching articles on wide angle photography and after seeing examples of photos taken with 16mm and wider lenses, I wanted one but it had to have image stabilization. Fortunately, Canon came out with the EF 16-35 f4L with Image Stabilization and the reviews were glowing. I ordered one from Adorama and it came with a clear filter, lens cap tether, lens cleaning kit and lens wrap for the same price as the lens by itself. It arrived just in time for our Alaskan cruise. We arrived a couple days early to enjoy the city of Vancouver and I took the opportunity to take photos around Canada Place and the Convention Center using the 16-35 exclusively. At the Olympic Torches, instead of zooming I set the lens to 16mm and looked through the viewfinder and walked toward the torches until it filled the frame. I looked down I was literally three feet from the edge of the pool! I took photos of the torches from different angles and they turned out great. I went back later at night and recreated the angles and they turned out great too. During the cruise, I used the 16-35mm 90% of the time to capture the close quarters of the ship and the many magnificent Alaskan vistas. At 35mm, it took great-looking stitched panoramas. A very high percentage of my photos came out sharp as tacks which thrilled me to no end. The EF 16-35 f4L IS USM is an amazing lens and it suits my needs and expectations perfectly.

Best Wide Angle

By

from Saint Joseph, MI  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I bought this lens for the Canon 5DM3 with the purpose of capturing wedding parties. This wide angle is great and you can capture a very wide patch even standing close to the target.
