Versatile Lens!

By

I bought this lens refurbished and it was in top condition. I use it for video and it is highly functional and versatile. Great in low light and for interviews.

Love this lens - great condition

By

I use it for theater and low-light photography and when I want good bokeh. Good clarity. Great lens to have on all the time. I haven't done many portraits, but I think I'll do more now. Used lens is in fantastic condition and includes all parts.

Good but not great

By

This is a good lens and it serves its purpose but it could be a great lens. It desperately needs IS. The corners are not very sharp and noticable vignetting at 24mm, especially on a FF, like teh 5D3. It is really sharp at 70mm. Nothing so bad that it cannot be corrected on PP, but out of all my Canon lenses and time using Canon products, this lens is not one of my favorites, It gets used but not as much as my 24-105 f4 IS.

A Great Everyday Lens

By

This lens has replaced 3 lenses in my bag. It is simply a great, all-purpose lens. Build quality is tops, photo results over the entire aperture range are excellent and the lens just does such a great job (as to be expected from a "L"). If your dollars are important, choose this lens over the Version II and save yourself $800. Just keep in mind the lens is not a lightweight.

A few bumps but GREAT results

By

This is the 1st version of the 24-70 "L" f2.8. I have been using it for a week and am thrilled with the quality and performance - particularly knowing the Version II is roughly $1200 more than what I paid for this used Version I. The lens is very clean with virtually no wear visible. Optics are clean. Pictures are great - sharp with good contrast. The only bumps that my headline refers to were minimal considering the final result. Adorama is intent on satisfying their customers.

Great condition!

By

This lens is all I was hoping it would be. I was nervous about buying used, but the lens was in near perfect condition. This is my first L series lens that I've purchased so I was surprised by the weight of it. That took a little getting used to, but was not insurmountable. The picture quality is amazing with this lens. So far, I have mainly used this as a walk around lens and for some portraits. It is very sharp and has great color. I will have to experiment more to find out what else I can do with it.

Great lens

By

Lens box arrived a bit banged up during shipping but it was well wrapped with bubble wrap to protect it from bumps. The lens works great and seems to be the quality it was rated. The lens hood has a few marks on it but otherwise in great shape.

3rd Used Pro Canon Product

By

The is the lens I've needed to bridge the other Canon "L" lenses I use. This is the 3rd Canon Pro product I've purchased used from Adorama and like the previous 2 (EOS 1Ds MkII and an EF70-200 f/2.8L IS USM) it came exactly as advertised. The only issue was the omission of the Canon lens pouch that was advertised as one of the accessories.

Questions about this item:

Ronnie M  I am looking at the 24-70mm F/2.8 and the new 24-105 F/4. Will the nwe 24-105 lens give me the fast focusing for taken pictures of people running or just moving and walking?
KYLE B  The focusing is pretty fast, I haven't used the 24-105, but the f stop difference between the lenses, to me is a lot more important. Shooting at f/4 may not be an issue for you, but I many times I prefer f/2.8 or lower to get more separation between foreground/background and subject. If you need the extra length of the 105mm then you have to consider that and that may be the lens for you. If you're shooting sports or something like that then you might want/need even more length than that, in which case a 70-200mm f.2.8 is crazy awesome. It's one of Canon's best lenses, IMO. The version II is expensive, but you can pick up a used one for 300-400 more that the 24-70. The 24-70 autofocus is as fast as I need it to be.
Shopper  What does the Gray Market mean? Is it still "new" ??
DAVID M  Not sure exactly what Gray Market means, but the lens is brand new and awesome....it is my go to lens and stays on my camera at all times and only comes off when I need a different shot and goes right back on. A must lens for a Canon shooter......Dave Unscene Productions
