Huge improvement over close-up filters

Found this lens also works quite well with shorter focal lengths; only loose a little sharpness around the edges.

Wow!

Build quality is great, does note degrade image quality, easy to use you screw it on to your lens BAM you have a macro lens. You have to practice your manual focusing skills. Dont waste your money with the cheaper alternatives, I did and I ended up sticking to this one.

Review of Canon 52mm Close-Up Lens

By

from San Diego, CA.  -  Photo Enthusiast

I used this on a Nikkor 55-200mm. Not terribly useful at the wide end, but at 200mm (300 mm equivalent on my D40x), it decreased close focus from about approximately 39 inches to 20 inches. I don't think the resulting image is 1:1, but it's close. I have used cheaper close-up lenses in the past, but this one has outstanding resolution with minimal distortion. I would rate it Excellent. No real need to purchase a Micro Nikkor!

Handy accessory; quality product.

No noticeable edge degridation common to most close up lenses; works well with 200mm zoom lens. Times when you just don't want to be switching lenses.

Just what I was looking for

By

from Dallas, Oregon  -  Tech Savvy

Bought the NK55200VRU Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX VR (Vibration Reduction)lens with the 52mm filter size and then got this 52mm close-up lens andnow I have a very good 55mm to 200mm and a very nicemacro lens all for $230.00. From the other reviews I wasn't too sure about what the outcome would be. In just a few minutes I knew I made the right decision. Here in Oregon this morning along the river the spider webs are all frozen and this combo brings out all that frozen detail. Love it.

I bought this because I can not afford a macro lens any time soon and wanted to take some close up shots. I am very pleased with this lens! Can't go wrong for [$].

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
BARRY W  wanted a two element close up lens for my daughter at a sensible price-it performs well.
Shopper  I have a Canon prime lens 35mm that focuses at 8 inches. --lens is 52 mm. Anoother Canon zoom lens (18-55) t hat focuses at about 12 inches-- 58mm.These both go on Rebel 3Ti. How much closer would I get with close up lens? Are Adorama filkters as good as Canon's?
RICHARD R  I've used this on Nikkor lenses and get within a couple of inches of the subject. No Adorama lenses and lens kits aren't as good as the Canon lens, not even close. Among affordable lenses, Canon is currently the best close up lens on the market.
