About Canon 55-250mm

Save $29.89 when you buy this Canon 55-250mm . This Value Bundle comes with a Canon 55-250mm, Adorama Cleaning Kit, Pro Optic Pro Digital 58mm Multi Coated UV Filter and a ProOptic Universal Lens Cap Tether .

This telephoto zoom lens is designed with Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer technology while retaining compactness and lightness, in response to demands of photographers.

This high zoom ratio lens is equivalent to a focal length of 88-400mm in the 35mm format (when used on Canon EOS cameras compatible with EF-S lenses) and the image stabilizer effect equivalent to a shutter speed about 4 stops faster than the same size lens without Image Stabilizer.

In other words, if the slowest shutter speed you could formerly hold a 250mm lens steadily was 1/250th of a second, with Canon's 4-stop stabilization correction, you could hand-hold at shutter speeds as slow as 1/15th of a second. It also uses a UD-glass lens element to correct chromatic aberration for excellent image quality throughout the zoom range.

Exactly as promised. Heartily recommend it to others.

from Mesa, AZ  -  Pro Photographer

Bought this lens because of the fast and quiet auto focus for video shooting. Works great.

Very nice tool in my bag

from Undisclosed

Took a few shots with this on a dance recital, and was amazed by the focus and sharpness. Was thinking of upgrading the 18-55 and 55-250 combo to 18-135 and selling the combo after. Now have to rethink if I want to let this one go.

Best bang for the $$$

from Ringwood, ok  -  Photo Enthusiast

This lens is awesome! For the price I don't think it can be beat! I've only owned it for 3 months. Build quality I'd give it 4 stars. Image quality 5 starts. If it lasts a long time it's worth every penny! If it falls apart soon then no. The mtf charts (I have limited knowledge on these) but look very good & I may be wrong but close to the "L" series lens. Now I know the build quality is not & it's slower than the "L" series. The images I get from this lens looks close to me! The Bokeh may not be as good but it's not bad. Focus is fast & accurate. Very light & easy to handle. Good image quality from 55 to 250mm & all aperture are acceptable! If you are on a budget then grab it! Love it!

Awesome detail at long distances

from Wisconsin

This lens can capture amazing detail at a distance. I love it. I really like how I can get a beautiful, soft blurred background and yet have every last fine detail of my subject stand out. For example, at the zoo, I was able to get beautiful images of animals where you can see all the fine details of their feathers or fur, making you want to reach out and touch the photo. The image stabilization feature really helps a lot. I can capture very sharp photos of fast-moving objects, even while zoomed all the way in and handholding the camera. It has been fun to take pictures of faraway objects and look at them later, to discover details that I couldn't see with the naked eye at the time. If you like to take photos of animals or fill the frame with distant details, this is a good lens.

This lens is a awesome!

from Reinholds, PA  -  Casual Photographer

I would highly recomend this lense to a sarting photographer or photo enthusiast. It has been my main lense for 2yrs. The manual focus on this lens is super smooth almost glassy. I'm not a photographer but a enthusiast and if you are looking for a pro lense then may be a lense with L glass would be better, but for me I does a superb job!

Good price for a good lens

from Clarkston, MI  -  Pro Photographer

I am a professional photographer, but I bought this lens for my wife. She has a Canon SL1. It's easy for her to use and has a good range. I wish it was a little faster for low light situations. If you plan to shoot indoor sports like basketball or volleyball, you will probabley need a faster lens. For the price, however, it's a good long lens for amateur shooters.

Great value lens

from San Diego, CA  -  Casual Photographer

I bought this product refurbished (D grade), and so far it appears indistinguishable from a new product. It has a good zoom range, and has decent autofocus. I ended up purchasing this after considering the IS 70-300 mm lens. It seemed a better value, and I like being able to use manual focus when in autofocus mode.

Light and Quiet

from Carrollton, TX  -  Casual Photographer

Just getting into photography and hope to have a great new hobby by the time I retire in a year or so. Product is light and sharp however it would be nice to have a lock on the lens like my 18-135 does so that the zoom locks in place when being carried around on the camera. Appears to be a nice lens given the instant rebate and "kit" pricing. Unfortunately I'm a beginner so I really don't have any technical knowledge to share.

so far so good

Light weight, fast focus

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Enrique O  Will it fit the EOS-T5i ?
JANET M  The lens fit my rebel Ti camera and my EOS 7D.
Shopper  Will it fit a EOS-1D Mark IV 16.1MP SLR Digital Camera?
WILLIAM W  Nope. The EF-S lenses have a white dot only to line up and attach to the camera. My full frame lenses have a red and a white dot. So, the full frame lenses (EF) goes on both full frame camera bodies and APS-C bodies, but the EF-S lenses only will go on the smaller sensor cameras. I am unaware of adaptor that would remedy this. I should say that I don't own a full frame body. I use EF and EF-S lenses on my small sensor Canon. My knowledge of this comes from reading about it and other photographers. This is a long way of saying - NO. Hope this helps.
