Bang for the Buck!

I bought this specifically for photographing a Marine Corps boot camp graduation and I wasn't disappointed! Fast focus and very flexible when used with my Canon Rebel XTi. I'd love to have one of the f2.8 zooms, but this cost less than 1/8th what one of those did. I've also shot a few macro shots with it and been very happy.

yes, I endorse quality!

By

from Tucson, AZ

Back in the 1960s, I was impressed to see Canon lenses on TV cameras in a TV studio I was doing an appearance in; a subsequent trip to Tokyo's Ginza led to some serious camera shopping- a Canon 35mm SLR and lenses (50mm+ 200mmtelephoto) which served beautifully for the balance of my 'round-the-work-journey following a year of travels through India.Years later, I upgraded the body to an A1 and ultimately transitioned into a 5D/ii, which evolved into an SL-1 with impressive zoom lenses. the comfort, ease of use, reliability and impressive images have always been present in all Canon photo products, and have consistently justified my continued investment in these quality products.

good lens

By

I have been using this lens since I bought my camera over 2 years ago. Light weight, easy to use and takes the abuse that I give it. As of today it is still in the same working order as when I took it out of the box.

For the $ best lense I've bought

By

from WaSHINGTON

I bought this lens in about 2007. Taken probably 12000 pictures with it. 50% of them at Walt Disney World. From reading other reviews I had none of those problems. Not much of a nigh shoot person, daytime pictures very few out of focus. Some times even use a 2x multiplier. Last trip to Disney bought and used EFS55-250mm. I had all the problems with that len that people described with this lens. I put the 75-300 back on my Rebel XT and will leave it there. The rebel XT is old and a little slow, might up-date it someday.

Very Disappointed

By

from Detroit, MI area  -  Photo Enthusiast

I've purchased two of these new. Both autofocus systems failed after the warranty expired. I've had multiple other Canon lenses for numerous years and have NEVER had a problem. However, this 75-300 lense certainly seems to be an inferior product. Don't waste your money on this one.

I would buy this product again

By

from Northeast, Pa.  -  Casual Photographer

I have not really had a chance to use the lens, but the few picture I did take look good to an amateur. I say this because I am really new to DSLR. Even though it is a refurb looks like new. Will know better when I get back from Alaska.

A Happy Surprise

By

from Front Royal, VA  -  Photo Enthusiast

I needed a telephoto lens for a trip to Peru/Amazon Rainforest. This product has fit the bill perfectly. It is not too heavy and produces fantastic photos.

Good For the Price

By

from Cape Cod  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

This is good for the price. If you're here looking at this lens then you are probably a consumer and not looking for pro level quality. This is a good lens for it's price but know that you will upgrade if you are serious about photography.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
WES G  Very good lens at an outstanding price!
Doug T  will this lens work on a DSLR?
Dwight L  As long as the body you have will take a EF lens it works, however depending on the age of the camera you may have to shoot in manuel mode. On the newer bodies you can shoot both manuel and automatic, but on the older models you can only shoot in manuel mode. Happy shooting, Luckey
Shopper  What mount adaptor would I need for a Sony NEX-6?
RONALD C  This lens is built specifically for the canon with the ef mount. For a Sony, you need a lens specifically with a Sony mount. Just look for a lens for the Sony NEX camera. This one will not work for you.
