CANON EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III (NON USM) USA

“AF” usually refers to autofocus in the photography world, but here, it also stands for affordability. Meet the CANON EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III (NON USM) USA, a high-functioning zoom camera capable of taking beautiful live action shots, astounding landscapes, and more:

Product Highlights

  • The rare DC motor inside the Canon 75-300mm lens will ensure that you get as much performance out of your camera as you’re putting into each and every shot—all done seamlessly.
  • A surprisingly wide field of view allows you to take full, lush landscapes that rival anything you’d get from a high-end lens.
  • The sharp image quality from the Canon 75-300mm lens means you can keep on taking landscapes, even in low light conditions that sometimes put a lens to the test.

Want a lens that sees exactly what you see when you look at a sunset? Check out this Canon lens and you’ll be amazed at how much of each sunset can be captured in every single shot.

Learn about the CANON EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III (NON USM) USA

No, you’re not looking at a space telescope designed to carry pictures of distant galaxies—this is actually the CANON EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III (NON USM) USA lens. And even if it’s not going into space anytime soon, you’ll still be amazed at the features and capabilities that Canon was able to pack into this bad boy, ranging from a DC motor for the autofocus to 9 groups and 13 elements of design. If you want to grab a lens that allows you to zoom in for a range of effects, from background blurring and general depth tomfoolery to plenty of landscape power, you’ve found it. Not the only question we have to ask here at Adorama is: what are the technical specs that make the Canon EF 75-300mm F/4-5.6 III lens such an attractive option as your next lens purchase?

  • Stunning landscape shots. A good landscape is a terrible thing to waste—and believe it or not, a lot of photographers don’t know how to match their lens to the proper shot. You won’t have to worry about that when utilizing your Canon 75-300mm lens. This lens is designed to handle a range of landscapes, whether you want to photograph your subject as a silhouette in a romantic sunset or grab plenty of low light in late-night city and landscapes. The closest focusing distance of 4.9 feet shows you exactly how well suited this lens is for those far-off shots that don’t quite work with an ordinary lens.
  • Surprising angle of view. A telephoto lens is not a wide angle of view lens—otherwise, it wouldn’t be a telephoto lens. But you’ll be amazed at just how much raw imagery you can capture in your Canon 75-300mm lens. The 32-degree angle of view here offers plenty of range for picking up those far-off sunset shots without feeling cramped. In fact, you’ll find that you can craft wide and expansive landscapes even in low-light situations.
  • Autofocus with a DC motor. The usual USM is cast aside here in favor of a DC motor that’s high-functioning, giving you the automatic focus you need to simply grab a camera with the Canon 75-300mm lens and take a beautiful shot of that scenery you just noticed while on your hike. The autofocus won’t get in the way; instead, it will supplement your own tastes and eye as a photographer and allow you to focus on what matters, and that’s crafting the right shot.
  • Easy interchangeability means portability. One of the top-rated customer comments on the Canon 75-300mm lens is that it’s easily interchanged with the proper cameras, which makes this particular lens a great way to add some zoom capability to your photographer’s arsenal without sacrificing any convenience. If you need to switch from a short-focus lens to this zoom lens, you can easily switch them out without missing a beat, even if you’re working at a photography gig where every moment counts.
  • A one-year warranty from Canon means that you’ll have plenty of durability with this lens, feeling secure as you try it out on a range of landscape, wildlife, and sports and action shots. Purchase from Adorama and don’t be afraid to give this lens a run for its money, pushing it to its limit while it shows off just how well an affordable zoom lens can perform.

When you need to zoom in and you need a lens that will do it for you without breaking the bank, the CANON EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III (NON USM) USA may just be the best option on the market.

Great Zoom Lens for the Price!!!

[...] I bought this lens to replace my 80-200 zoom for I wanted greater range. Many reviews state that at the high-end this lens isn't quality. I beg to differ. I've taken many photos at the 300mm setting (hand held) and seen crisp, clear and amazing results. For the price, it's an outstanding lens. The build quality is greater than my former 80-200mm because it seems more solid and has a metel mount. I give it a 4 out of 5 for sure. It's not the USM so it's slower to focus. But I own other U

Decent Starter/Casual Lens

While inexpensive, I found this lens lacking in sharpness when wide open, difficult for AF to lock in low light resulting in much hunting, and feeling less sturdy than other comparable lenses. That said, any step up comes with a corresponding step up in price (Sigma 70-300 APO DG or Canon ultrasonic version of this lens). For a casual or learning user tending to shoot in bright conditions, this lens will probably fit the bill.

yes, I endorse quality!

from Tucson, AZ

Back in the 1960s, I was impressed to see Canon lenses on TV cameras in a TV studio I was doing an appearance in; a subsequent trip to Tokyo's Ginza led to some serious camera shopping- a Canon 35mm SLR and lenses (50mm+ 200mmtelephoto) which served beautifully for the balance of my 'round-the-work-journey following a year of travels through India.Years later, I upgraded the body to an A1 and ultimately transitioned into a 5D/ii, which evolved into an SL-1 with impressive zoom lenses. the comfort, ease of use, reliability and impressive images have always been present in all Canon photo products, and have consistently justified my continued investment in these quality products.

two thumbs up

good lens

from Virginia

I have been using this lens since I bought my camera over 2 years ago. Light weight, easy to use and takes the abuse that I give it. As of today it is still in the same working order as when I took it out of the box.

For the $ best lense I've bought

I bought this lens in about 2007. Taken probably 12000 pictures with it. 50% of them at Walt Disney World. From reading other reviews I had none of those problems. Not much of a nigh shoot person, daytime pictures very few out of focus. Some times even use a 2x multiplier. Last trip to Disney bought and used EFS55-250mm. I had all the problems with that len that people described with this lens. I put the 75-300 back on my Rebel XT and will leave it there. The rebel XT is old and a little slow, might up-date it someday.

Very Disappointed

from Detroit, MI area  -  Photo Enthusiast

I've purchased two of these new. Both autofocus systems failed after the warranty expired. I've had multiple other Canon lenses for numerous years and have NEVER had a problem. However, this 75-300 lense certainly seems to be an inferior product. Don't waste your money on this one.

A Happy Surprise

from Front Royal, VA  -  Photo Enthusiast

I needed a telephoto lens for a trip to Peru/Amazon Rainforest. This product has fit the bill perfectly. It is not too heavy and produces fantastic photos.

Good For the Price

from Cape Cod  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

This is good for the price. If you're here looking at this lens then you are probably a consumer and not looking for pro level quality. This is a good lens for it's price but know that you will upgrade if you are serious about photography.

I would buy this product again!

from Rhode Island  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

This lens has been great to help me photograph the my son's baseball games and my garden!!

Great lens for kitted item!

from Chicago  -  Casual Photographer

This lens came with a Canon 3ti kit. It's a decent lens especially compared to the standard Canon lens. Great for zooming still items/wildlife.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Josey G  Is this lense compatible with the Canon EOS Rebel T4i Body?
VY B  Why wouldn't it work with your T4i? It's a Canon lens, should work with ALL standard Canon DSLRs (except full-frame cameras, which your T4i is certainly not).
Josey G  Sorry I asked! I wasn't sure about the diameter of the lense because I have never had a camera this big. But, sorry I ever did.
Shopper  does this lens fit the Canon Rebel T2i digital SLR?
RODERICK M  It fits my T1i so it should fit yours just fine. I think their lenses are universal.
Shopper  it is compatible with canon 40D?
ANNE G  I have a Canon Rebel T1i. I am not sure but I would think it would be compatible since they are similar. I would think it would be in their best interests and ours, but still I cannot say for sure. I love it as it gives me shots with a different perspective than the regular lens. I can catch people when they aren't looking, nature (birds and animals) when you cannot get as close as you want, and actually close ups with a blurred background.
