Good in bright, bright sun

It's so easy to put on that sometimes you forget it's on. Better than holding a filter over tje lens.

Awesome colours of skyline and water

The filter meets and exceeds the requirement. Sky and water never looked so beautiful before. I have givn 4 ratings instead of 5 because the lens cap dosent fit with this filter. So the filter gets dirty very quickly.

Because it's SLIM!

I'd like to respond to the other two reviews: A lens cap doesn't fit on this filter because it's a so-called slim filter. Though I haven't found any reference stating it is, it is. I use this on my UWA, a Tokina 12-24 and there's no vignetting at all. As far as I know, there are no slim filters that allow lens caps, so this shouldn't be mentioned as a con. I'm happy with the results, though they aren't as spectacular in terms of darkening as I hoped. The effect is very consistent, however.

Cap will not hold on!!

The lens cap will not work on the filter! The engineers were out to lunch when the design went to production. Someone let these guys know this.

Good quality, fair price, poor design

After doing my homework, I found that the Canon 77 mm circular polarizing filter offered the best value - good quality at a reasonable price. However, I was somewhat chagrined when I attempted to afix a Canon 77 mm lens cap to the filter. I would not fit. It seems that there are not enough screw threads on the outside of the filter to allow the lens cap to seat properly. Literally, the lens cap hangs by a thread. Now, when I uses the lens, I must be very careful that the lens cap doesn't pop off. Very frustrating and a clear example of poor engineering. Canon, what were you thinking?

About Canon 77 Circular Polarizer Filter

Polarizing filter enhances picture quality by blocking harmful reflected light. Use it to reduce polarized light reflections from glass and water surfaces or to improve color saturation. Simple to use, circular polarizing filters (such as Canon's PL-C) polarize light circularly, rather than linearly, so it does not interfere with autofocus or TTL light metering.
