The CalDigit AV Drive features USB 3.0 allowing it to reach speeds over 145MB/s, all from a single drive.
Specially designed for audio and video applications, the CalDigit AV Drive can handle some of the most demanding media formats. USB 3.0 speeds are up to 5 Gbps, much faster than most of today's popular interfaces. If you don't have USB 3.0 yet, FireWire 800 will allow you to connect to your current computer. Then when you get the CalDigit Super Speed PCI Express Card or a USB 3.0 equipped computer, you will be ready to start using the CalDigit AV Drive at the fastest possible speeds.
The CalDigit AV Drive is available individually or bundled with the CalDigit Super Speed PCI Express Card for systems without built-in USB 3.0 support. CalDigit also features a Super Speed Express Card for laptops with expresscard support. The USB 3.0 port on the CalDigit AV Drive is USB 2.0 compatible. When using USB 3.0, throughputs of up to 5Gb/sec can be reached. CalDigit has developed the first USB 3.0 driver for the Mac OS, allowing Macs with the CalDigit Super Speed PCI Express Card to run the CalDigit AV Drive using USB 3.0.
