About CalDigit 1TB AV Drive with USB 3.0 Card for Laptop
The CalDigit AV Drive (1TB) With USB 3.0 Card For Laptop combines a high-quality desktop external drive and SuperSpeed Express Card for your PC or Mac laptop. This combo of gear facilitates quick safe storage and backup from your laptop to the 1TB AV Drive via high-speed USB 3.0 connectivity. It reaches rotational speeds of 7200 RPM, enjoys a 32 MB cache and is compatible with both PC and Mac.
The USB 3.0 interface can achieve transfer rates up to 5 Gbps. In order to make their drive more flexible, CalDigit has also equipped the AV Drive with two FireWire 800 ports. Plus, the USB 3.0 is backward compatible with USB 2.0 interfaces as well.
Inside the drive, CalDigit has preloaded AV Drive Assistant, Carbon Copy Cloner, an Intuitive RAID Tool and the software to ensure the AV Drive is Time Machine Ready. The AV Drive also features an intelligent cooling fan and automatic Power Management. The fan runs only when extra cooling is needed. It monitors the temperature, which prevents overheating. The Ambient Temperature Control keeps the drive cool and increases its longevity and reliability. Even the design, with a striking aluminum chassis, works towards heat dissipation.
The Power Management enables automatic turning On and Off in concert with the host computer. Features like this make the AV Drive more energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
