I bought this bag for hiking slot canyons in Utah because of it's compactness. Most of these hikes are short so not much equipment or food is needed. This bag fits well and holds everything securely. Easy access to equipment also. Price is right for what you get...

This pack is very stable and does not move around when I ride a mountain bike. I use it with a 700-oz water pack and with a 5D and some basic bike equipment and find that it is very comfortable. I use the pack any time I want to carry my camera and a few other things, it is just the right size to grab and go. This pack is not big enough to carry a bunch of lens, and the 5D with a 70-300L mounted will not fit into it.

This backpack is great. I purchased the compact version because I wanted something small that would replace my regular camelbak for hiking and allow be to take my camera and lunch with me. The camera compartment is fairly small, I have a 5D mark III with the 24-105L lens. after rearranging the camera compartment it fits nicely but without much room for anything else. Im sure I could get a flash or maybe a small prime in there but thats about it. The upper compartment is just enough room to pack a lunch. on my last hike I was able to put my lunch in there as well as my 70-200 F4. The pack is very comfortable. My 5D3 lives in this pack. I take it everywhere. The only thing I would change is the waist straps. I wish I could remove them when not in use. (You cant remove them but you can tuck them out of the way so that works)

Way to small, it's not what I thought it would be! I will be returning it.

I got this to take my 60D or 5D with me on mountain bike rides. My 5D with a 50mm L lens fits fine, and so does my 60D with the 15-85 IS lens. My 70-300L lens on either camera will not fit. I like the way the pack distributes the weight ( w/5D, lens, 70oz water, tool kit, wind breaker). The pack is stable when riding rough descents. Better than my Osprey pack! I'm concerned about cleaning it. With my other packs I toss them in the washing machine, I don't know if I can do the same with this one.
