I purchased this product after first purchasing the strap system and was very pleased with it. I permanantly attached the screw that came with the strap to a larger lens, which left me no way to attach the strap to the camera when using a smaller lens without a mounting point. Which is why I purchsed another Sun-Sniper screw. When, in the future I purchase another lens with a mounting point, I'll be purchasing another screw along with it. Great product!

Love this screw so much I took the connecter off my strap and installed this one. It's so smooth with ballbearings

After going back and forth with the importer for months over whether or not this was to be fixed, I contacted Sunbounce directley and was told that yes indeed they had "fixed" it. Their solution was to add a small split ring washer that goes on top of the rubber washer therefore securing it to the threads. They promptly send me one and now the washer stays put.

I bought this to replace the "standard" bearing that comes with the Sunsniper strap. It has ball bearings and so it rotates by itself. It is made to go directly on the strap - so the carabiner used with the standard bearing is not necessary. However, it has a serious design flaw not shared by the standard bearing in that the threaded portion of its shaft extends under the rubber washer. When used with a camera with a rubber skin (like the D700) it sticks to the camera body when the bearing is unscrewed and runs up the threads -usually ending up precariously near the end of the shaft. I found this out the morning after a concert shoot when I spied the metal washer (that goes under it) on the floor and the rubber washer nowhere in site. I was able to get replacement washers from Bron Imaging (the importer) in about a month! The problem can be easily solved by removing the threads from that portion of the shaft covered by the rubber washer as was done on their standard bearing, which does not share this problem. Over 6 months have passed and I have been told that Sunbounce has no plans, yet, to address this problem.

The strongest attachment to the camera. Swivels very easily.

The Sunbounce Sun Sniper Bear Camera Screw is a replacement camera screw for any Sun Sniper strap system. It has a ball bearing system to improve camera rotation and minimize bounce against the body when camera not in use.
