EDWAL ANTI-STATIC FILM CLEANER EXCELLENT

I collect and sell 16mm projected films and this cleaner dries quickly and will leave the film smooth and dirt free for quiet & sharp projection. Other cleaners dry very slowly and will sometimes spot film if it they are not used properly. Edwal will leave the film clean and spot free if used as follows: Use film cleaning pads, go over the entire film three to four feet at a time (or where desired) by hand and buff each section lightly immediatly with a clean dry pad for the best result. ...

Reliable Film Cleaner

By

We relay on Edwal Anti-Stat Film Cleaner for providing a reliable cleaning on all film, 8mm, Super-8, 16mm, Polavision, slides, and negatives, before we migrate them to archival DVD or CD. It removes all surface dust, and helps to remove embedded dirt and light mildew. We have used it for years, and have not found any other product that works as well.

The best for cleaning 8mm film

By

Have used other film cleaner but this is the best that I have found. I used 'cheaper' cleaner and found it to flick off the film as I was running it through my Sniper and splatter onto the lense. This left the 8mm movies looking dirty and with a haze to them. Not good when transferring to DVD.

Use sparingly ... dries fast.

Best overall film cleaner I have found. I restore 16mm film. I use it in an applicator between two rewinds. Barely dampen the flannel cloth, and you will see the dirt of years of neglect float onto the cloth. Keep advancing the cloth roll several times on the first run-through. Then run the film through two or three more times. This product will give the film a sheen and restore film you thought cound not be saved. I also use it on a small patch of flannel to manually clean stubborn areas, like old tape splices. Film projects quieter, too. Just DO NOT saturate the cleaning pads...this product WILL leave mottled areas on film of you over-dampen your pad. Just use enough to BARELY wet your cleaning material. The product stores well, and since you are not saturating the film a container of the goes a long way. Be sure to use in a well-ventilated area.

Peter A  is this a 32oz jug (like the photo of the item indicates).... not a "Can" as your description says? Thanks, Peter Arbib
DAVID D  The 32 oz container I received is plastic. That doesn't necessarily mean that the manufacturer/distributor couldn't change packaging. BTW, the product is exactly what I needed.
