About Cinevate

The Canon EOS to Nikon Adapter Ring is custom-made by Cinevate to allow any Nikon lens to fit on a Canon EOS camera, including the popular 5D MkII and 7D, both of which are as well-regarded for their video as their stills. Constructed of long-lasting chrome-plated brass, the adapter ring gives your Canon SLR access to a full line of quality optics, from Nikon's own topnotch lenses to such third-party stalwarts as the Zeiss ZF primes.

With this simple adapter, you'll more than double your camera's optical versatility, while maintaining each lens' focal length and full focusing ability, from macro to infinity.

It works, but could be improved

I use this on a 5D. I have a lot of Nikkor lenses, but no Canon lenses. Once you get past the fact that the fit is sloppy, and the lens rattles, you will love the fact that you can use AV priority mode and metering on your Canon 5D that you picked up used for less than 500 bucks. To be honest, I'd rather have a D3 or D700, but those are still too pricey.

Bought the adapter for use with Nikkor manual-focus lenses on Canon 5D mkii for architectural photography. The mount locks in very well, but the spring-action release was soft/loose to operate. Okay if you are leaving the adapter on the lens (which most do), but awkward to remove. Other adapters have a much more precise and snappy release mechanism with simpler removal.

OK mount adapter.

Put a Nikon 2.0 onto my 5D with this adapter. Took a little fiddling to get it set right but it seems to work well enough. Good value.

Questions about this item:

Lucas L  Does it work on 5DMKIII?
RANDOLPH J  This didnt actually work for me. I have bought a few similar from eBay that worked but were a bit loose. I was hoping to get a tighter fit with a higher end on but it actually was too tight. The nikkor 55 1.2 does not attach correctly to my 7D
Shopper  I have old lenses from my nikon f film slr. Can they be used with the Nikon D7000? Or will an adaptor be necessary?
EDDIE S  Your older Nikon F-mount lenses can be used with the Nikon D7000. The Nikon D7000 is an F-mount camera. Depending on the age of your older lenses, the D7000 might not have the capability to electronically communicate with the lenses for autofocus and metering purposes, so everything will need to be shot "manually" with the older lenses. Other than that, you should experience no issues.
