Students favor personal media players over computers, tablets and other e-learning devices. Personal media players give students the ability to take individual ownership of their work (and at their own pace), will also offering high-quality digital learning resources for nurturing language learning & reading skills, ELL, ELD applications and listening to recorded books and music.
The 8201 enables students to play and record audio files (MP3, WMA, FLAC, APE, AAC, WAV ) from science experiments, class presentations, or educator lessons for later playback. It also enables viewing of educational videos (AVI, MPEG1, MPEG2, DAT, MP4), charts or diagrams. The 8201 can be used for 1:1 and differentiated small group learning programs and be used by teachers to reinforce curriculum concepts taught in class (or in a flipped environment) to strengthen understanding and increase student motivation.
It has an LCD touch-screen for easy-to-use navigation with dual 3.5mm headphone jacks for two students to listen & watch at the same time, or even more students can participate with a stereo jackbox connected instead of a second headphone. For hearing protection, it limits the volume playback to the ASHA-recommended 85dB, with the option to disengage the sound restriction for students with special needs or other situations. There's a built-in microphone and a mic jack to connect a headset for higher quality audio recording and podcasting.
