That's when Chimera's system of light control accessories comes in handy. Now, when you need barn doors or grids you don't have to cut foam-core strips or dig up some other materials to re-direct the light.

Fabric Grids pack up so small there's never a reason to debate bringing them and they do a great job of keeping that famous Chimera soft light where you want it - on the subject, not on the background. They come in a variety of beam-widths from 20 to 60 degrees so you can pick the effect that best suits your situation. The size of the individual cells are: 20 = 5/8"; 30 = 1 1/8"; 40 = 1"; 50 = 2"; 60 = 3".

The brainchild of photographer Stephen Pilby, CHIMERA® Soft Fabric Egg Crate Grids are revolutionizing the light control options for location film and video crews and photographers. Collapsible, portable, and extremely lightweight, fabric grids have no supporting frame of their own. These grids hook & loop to all four sides of the CHIMERA Lightbank's front recess area to provide a controlled beam spread.

Once the job is complete, just detach, give an energetic diagonal snap to align the grid's joints, and fold it down to near pocket-size. Ideal for travel and location work. Most CHIMERA Lightbanks have this fabric grid-compatible hook & loop system (not available on the CHIMERA PRO IITM or CHIMERA Mini /MaxiTM Lightbanks). CHIMERA® Soft Fabric Egg Crate Grid designations are 20° , 40° , and 60° . Beam angles at 50% intensity are 30,40, and 60 degrees. Available for all sizes of rectangular Lightbanks and strip banks.
