Very solid unit

By

I use this tripod unit for long range imaging of birds and wildlife. With my DSLR and refractor attached to the unit. Very nice build, dovetail plate, and swivel head assembly is very smooth and easy to setup and get imaging. For the money for my use, it is a real winner.

Questions about this item:

John L  What is the optical tube weight capacity for this tripod. I have a SkyWatcher 150mm Newtonian Reflector optical tube that weighs about 10.5 pounds. Is this tripod big and strong enough to move it around without trouble?
Andrew R  This tripod may be a little on the light side for your use. Celestron indicates that the maximum capacity for this unit is 10 pounds.
Shopper  Will this tripod work with a celestron 130 mm 5.1 inch reflector? If not is there a alt-az tripod that I can use with my celestron 130 mm telescope? Thank you Charlie
Andrew R  Unfortunately without knowing the specific model 'scope (there are several celestron 130 mm 5.1 scopes in various configurations) it's difficult to provide you with accurate guidance. This tripod is really geared toward use with spotting scopes and high powered binoculars and may not be the best choice for astronomical OTAs.
Shopper  I'M LOOKING FOR A STABLE TRIPOD FOR A CELESTRON TRAVELSCOPE 70. wILL THIS ONE WORK? IF NOT WHICH ONE WILL WORK BEST?
TONY S  Buy it. Right now. It's the most stable tripod I've ever gotten from Adorama. I use it for 16-lb astronomical/terrestrial binoculars, and have had it for several years without a single issue. Great price.
