Not sure I'd buy it again...

The sensor loupe works well, illuminating and magnifying the sensor. I can see small particles of dust, etc., on the sensor but believe a 10x magnifier might have been more beneficial. The brush seems to work ok but I'm not so sure about the "electrostatic charge" that is supposed to "attract" the dust. Sometimes it appears to simply move the dust from one spot to another, disappearing once it has been swept off the sensor??? IMO it's overpriced.

Great concept, but....

The loupe works great...easy to see everything on your sensor. However, the Arctic Butterfly is garbage. Obviously very cheaply made, and the shaft w/ the brush fell off of the unit after using it for 3-4 sensor cleanings. I can push it back on, but after turning it on for 3 seconds, it just pops back off. I emailed the company and they got back to me and said they'd send out a replacement shaft, but they never sent it. Not sure what that would've done anyway except fall off as well....I think I'll break out the superglue and go that route. With the build quality, it's worth more like $30-$40. If possible, just get the loupe and then figure something else out for a brush.

if you want it done right do it yourself

I have never cleaned my sensor before. I've always sent it out to Factory Services. I was never satisfied with the result but due to not wanting to be without my camera I usually just sucked it up and cleaned up my images in post processing. I wasn't even aware of this product until I took a class at my local community college. The Manufacture use to be free so I could'nt really complain but now they charge for their sub standard cleaning. I decided to take matters in my own hands. Purchased the arctic butterfly and followed the instructions thoroughly. I couldn't be happier. My sensors have never been this clean. I was a little nervous but if you follow the instructions everything will work out great. A little costly but after only a few cleaning it will have paid for itself and you won't have to be without your camera. [...]

Excellent products that work well.....

By

The original brush that came with the arctic butterfly had bent, splayed fibers that would have contacted the 'dirty' stuff around the sensor. Adorama wanted me to send the whole set back and was willing to ship me another. After I convinced the manufacturer to instead send me just a new brush, these products have worked very well for finding and getting dust off my D7000 sensor. The magnifier seems expensive but works quite well. Very effective combo at getting loose dust off my sensor.
