Not quite the right size, but it'll do

I lost the quick release plate for my Cullman tripod (which was a gift that I use as the perfect travel tripod)...anyway, there were two choices for a replacement => 42mm and 60mm. The 42mm is what I needed, so I ordered it. It's just a wee bit small, so it slides a little in the tripod receiver when trying to secure the camera. Not any movement when trying to take a picture though. I'm thinking of wraping some tape around it to give it a snugger fit.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  will this quick release plate fit my 2901 cullmann tripod?
JEFF M  love cullmann design and products, Unfortunately they are a dinosaur compare to the marketplace. Qrca has far eclipsed them. Sad but they have not kept current with innovation. Dr Mix
B M  I have a Memorex tripod that I'm trying to fit a Canon EOS Rebel T3i onto. The tripod doesn't have a quick release plate and I think this one is the closest I've found to fitting it. With the cam open the opening is 42mm long by about 42mm wide from what I can see, but with it closed it's more like 36-38mm. Will this plate fit?
SHARMAN P  I purchased the plate as it was recommended to fit my tripod 42mm but it is smaller than my original and has some definite play. It is not tight. I will need to go to a couple mm larger.
Erin M  Will this plate fit a Solidex VT-90HQ? The tripod has grooves that appear to allow a plate to slide onto the existing mount (it was for an old video camera) and there is a sliding lever at the back that turns a half-moon shaped disk. Is anyone familiar with this tripod and know if the Cullman 42mm QR plate will fit? Thanks.
CONSTANTINE G  This mount is slightly smaller than the original for the Solidex tripod ( I bought it for the same purpose). It is, however, probably the closest fit available.
