Not quite the right size, but it'll do

I lost the quick release plate for my Cullman tripod (which was a gift that I use as the perfect travel tripod)...anyway, there were two choices for a replacement => 42mm and 60mm. The 42mm is what I needed, so I ordered it. It's just a wee bit small, so it slides a little in the tripod receiver when trying to secure the camera. Not any movement when trying to take a picture though. I'm thinking of wraping some tape around it to give it a snugger fit.

Questions about this item:

Erin M  Will this plate fit a Solidex VT-90HQ? The tripod has grooves that appear to allow a plate to slide onto the existing mount (it was for an old video camera) and there is a sliding lever at the back that turns a half-moon shaped disk. Is anyone familiar with this tripod and know if the Cullman 42mm QR plate will fit? Thanks.
H P  Measure the space on the tripod where it will be inserted. If it's 42mm or really close, you should be good to go. Good luck.
Erin M  I have been reading previous posts about this item for the tripod that I have, and it appears that Veronica bought this plate for the same tripod and it did not fit. The problem is the plastic grooves on the sides of the insertion point. If I remove them/snap them off, then what will hold this plate into place? Thoughts? Thanks.
